  1. Your words-

    They radiate through me
like a burst of intense pleasure
    right to my toes.

    They consume me
    like an insatiable thirst
in the peak of a drought.

    They engulf me
    with the warmth
of the first cup of tea in the morning.

    They soak into me
    like a drop of water
    on desert soil.

    They amaze me
like a streak of white lightning
    through the dark night sky.

    They leave me wonder struck!

Do I ever consume your day and distract you from what you are doing? I wonder if you ever think about me the way I think about you. I wonder.

  7. I wonder about why he left me. I wonder if he’s looking at the same stars as me, or if he’s halfway around the world where there aren’t stars this time of day. I wonder if he’s thinking about me as I am thinking about him. He wouldn’t have left me. No, he couldn’t. He knew I couldn’t live, I can’t breathe without him. But I’m left here to wonder about where I went wrong. What I did, or didn’t do to make him want to leave so badly.

Wonder can make us fearful, but fear does not interfere with the simplicity and the purpose of contemplation.
