  1. I’ve seen so many crash photos that nothing phases me anymore. Burns, mutilations, skin peeling from bodies like fleshy packaging… sometimes I wonder what this job has done to me.

  2. what do you first think of when you hear the word peeled? almost immediately, for me, an image of a monkey eating a banana pops into my head! maybe you think of the structure your so used to.. well apparently i dont keep that in mind often thats why it doesnt appear in my head often HAHA

  3. Okay I’ve done this before, and had the same word. But basically I wrote about the time when I ordered watermelon on a plane, and they accidentally gave me grapefruit, which was the first time i;d had it. I havent liked it since because of how shocked I was when I bit into it.

  4. Opened, completely exposed. Nothing is hidden. No obstructions. Ready to move forward without hinderances.

  5. He carefully peeled the orange and somehow he managed to do it menacingly. He never met her eyes, rather concentrated on the peel as if he was going to be asked to put the entire orange back together after he was done disseminating it. She felt a chill on the back of her neck.

  6. She peeled off her skin, layer by layer, for the man she loved. “This is me.”, she said, revealing her true self. No more lies, no more intentions.

  8. “So, what next?” Oscar sat in the chair and stared Leo down as he peeled his orange. “How do you want to handle this?”
“What? This is your case! I thought I was just helping out.” Leo was taken aback by the request.
“No, Leo, this is our case now.” He grinned. “So, now you have to come up with the next big idea.”

  9. I don’t know what happened, but when I peeled back my conscious brain and saw my unconscious brain, I knew that I had a lot to do…I had big shoes to fill if you will. But it can be done and will be done…almost done.

  10. If Anna were to take her relationship with Elsa and look beneath the surface; look beneath the shared smiles and soft touches. If she looked past the warm silences and the nights filled with noise… She probably couldn’t have wished for a better friend.

    Or, a better lover.

  11. Peeled eggs are the best non-fruit proteins that dogs can ever eat. This probably doesn’t make any sense to you but trust me smart dogs know what it means. Just peel your eggs before tossing them out.

  12. As his skin peeled back, the prisoner screamed! He continued screaming for many hours, under the skilled ministrations of the torturer, many long pain filled hours.
Much as he hated to do this, General K’or knew that in times of war, men must do things that later they may regret.
“It is for the good of the nation”, he would repeat to himself at times like these, ‘but at what cost to my very soul?’ he would silently add…

I think I know the answer. Daddy peeled it off for me.
    Love you daddy.

  15. Frankie had peeled himself away from temptation and moved to Virginia to avoid Serena Lee. He had paid the price for wanting her a hundred times over. He lost his wife and his sense of order. He could no longer focus on the tricky technical business of surveillence and each day bought with it anther chasm to navigate. He lived in darkness void of her sunshine.

  16. Her skin peeled off like a snake shedding its skin. The summer burn flaking off and leaving her sun kissed skin. It didn’t hurt anymore, thankfully. It just looked ugly. She was ready to see it go

  19. Peeled like a lemon,” declared Detective Broden. His tone was almost mocking as he paced around the gruesome figure, outlined in chalk on the dirt smeared cement.

  20. Her heart felt as though it had been peeled back, revealing the fragile self underneath. She had tried so long to keep her tender, unprotected insecurities from being exposed, but Edward had seen them like words on an open page.

  21. Peeled to the bone…Noth.Ing.Left.

    Is that all you got?

No. No. Is that all you HAVE got?

If you’re going to ask rude questions at least use good grammar.

And she turned back to her potatoes and staring out the window across the valley.

  22. Sometimes peeling a piece of fruit is annoying. Flustering. Extremely frustrating. Just all the time work and effort you have to place to just eat the darn thing. Oranges smell the most fragrant from what I can think of. Jeff at work (my manager) usually eats one in the morning every so often. I don’t know that smell bothers me a bit though. Guess it could always be worse though.

  27. It had been such a long time. A long, empty year without the soft touch of his hand on her face, and his skin against hers. They had agreed that it wouldn’t happen again, that for the sake of their marriages they would leave well alone, but the first glimpse had sealed it. Their falling into each other was inevitable, not able to be resisted. They sank into each others skin and lost themselves in rhythm and moans. Three nights would pass, a new government would be elected and her husband would report her missing before they were able to find a way to peel off each other.

  28. The banana peeled back and a face emerged. It said, “THIS TIME, IT WILL BE ME WHO’S DOING THE THINKING!”.

  32. She dug her fingernails into the mandarin and peeled the rind away. It tore away from the flesh neatly, in pieces. She pulled one juicy, bright segment away from the others and tossed it eagerly into her mouth.

  33. I took hold of the book and slowly peeled a soft, thin, transparent plastic that separates me from the words that I am hungry to read and get lost in.

  34. The monkey took one look at the rat and snatched it up. While drooling profusely, in the midst of its screeching, the monkey peeled the critter’s loose skin, slowly, with glee.

  35. He peeled his feet off the floor and began to poke at the rubbery toes with one metal-tipped finger. “It’s not too bad,” he said, shaking the prosthetic out. “It should hold up through one more of those.” Holding it up to his knee, he mentally undid the security locks for the appendage to reattach itself.

This particular pair of legs was his favorite–mainly because they were idiot proof and partially because, well, who wouldn’t want a pair of legs that walked on their own? It was the best way to weed out potential friends and suitors–those that ran screaming, well, he was better off without them, wasn’t he–OW!

He pouted over one shoulder at Gina. “What?”

“If you’re trying to scare me, you idiot, congratulations–it worked!” She thumped him on the head again, her cheeks flushing red, free hand fisted at her side. “What part of–I’m a fire elemental, keep back–was so difficult to understand?”

    “Eh-heh,” he gulped.

“Maybe next time I’ll use smaller words!” She snapped. “Or–better yet. I won’t mention it at all. Then we can peel you off the ceiling and Nara can practice her revival skills.” With a huff, she stalked off, leaving the rest of them staring after her.

Nara scooted over after a few minutes, a sympathetic look on her round face. “Don’t worry, kid,” she patted his arm. “She liked you enough to show off, so I don’t think she’ll fry you any time soon. Roast a bit–maybe on the edges, but you’ll live.”

He swallowed harder. Maybe freaking people out wasn’t worth the hassle anymore.

  36. She peeled out on the wet pavement as she pulled a U-turn. The cop got mad and signaled for her to stop. “Well, how was I supposed to know the tires would squeal?”

  37. She always peels her oranges. It’s the logical thing to do, since how are you going to eat an orange that has the peel on it? Preposterous, right? The peel’s thick and rough and flaked with little bits of white membrane on the underside–definitely not fit for human consumption. But apparently not enough to stop a hungry 3 year old.

  38. i peeled the orange, slow and sticky, dripping juice to the floor. Watching the drops on my hand

  39. The orange was upset. It had sat on the counter day after day and watched countless bananas and apples come and go. But here it sat. Waiting… Waiting for what? The orange didn’t know. All it knew was that it would spend its whole life waiting without a purpose.

  40. Frank peeled potatoes in the kitchen while I cut out newspaper clippings. It was for some sort of art project for Barry. He said his teacher wanted him to find vocabulary words and glue them onto some sort of household object, which would ultimately mutate into some sort of linguistic pun. I found an old broom we didn’t use anymore, but Barry’s hand still didn’t work right since he broke it playing lacrosse, so I was left with the manual work while he perused his vocab list from the corner of the table.
