Mine is filled with things that I love, and I love it just the way it is. You don’t like my zone? Well shoot, guess what, I don’t care. I like it and that’s enough for me. I hope you like your zone, but it doesn’t sound like you do because you’re trying to get into mine.

  5. An artist gets in the zone and when they don’t the creativity won’t flow. This isn’t just for artists actually but every single person with a passion or with an appointed task. The zone is the ideal place to be where we are all at our most productive level. I love the zone. I wish to be in the zone right now.

    Kayla

  11. He’s taking me to the Interrogation Zone. No, he isn’t going to interrogate me, there is just some people he would like to know if I know, some he said that they had found shortly after acquiring me. Quickly, Jason explains that he had been friends with Katie, Brook, Eric, and I before he came here. To Tulsa, Oklahoma. To this war zone. Afterwards, he had been forced to lose contact with us. He tells me that he also is one of the Appointed.
But like everything else in my life, I do not remember what the Appointed is, neither do I remember having any part of it.
Jason eyes me wearily, and I can see it in his eyes. He’s wondering how I could have forgotten something, something so…
He pushes the Interrogation Zone’s doors open. Entering through the swinging doors, I barely take a glance at the four people with their hands tied, eyes behind cloths. “I…”
Jason’s eyes are wide, “I know them.”

  12. The word zone for some reason reminds me of our ozone (oxygen zone) layer. The ozone is something that protects our planet – just like God does. Our sins are destroying it but as soon as He returns it will be fully restored for those that choose Him.

“Are you sure?” he demanded for about the hundredth time that evening.
I wanted to tell him that I had never been surer about anything in my life, but instead I settled on, “Yeah.” I had learned over time that less complicated things were often better instead of any number of alternatives.
I bleakly gestured with tired arms to the narrow rows of houses surrounding us. What I said next was quiet, and in the stillness I swear I saw the houses lean forward to catch my tired, fateful words. “This is the demolition zone.”
A shudder ran through the houses.

Or must I be “in the zone” to enter into this new phase? How shall I cope? I am terrified and I already feel alone. But I will survive. I will thrive. Because God is my Savior and when I am weak, He makes me strong.

  36. Then when I think things have settled, the dust finally landed on the ground and I can clearly see where I am going, the world shakes with the rumble of the jet engines of fate. Stepping over the line, crossing that zone of nothingness in the air where you feel empty freefall. When I thought I understood you, just when I thought you cared, there is nothing but fire and fumes and flight making me nauseous and lost in the expanse of all that could be that I cannot touch. Tearing my heart out a mach three, where you cannot hear me cry.

  40. Sometimes I get in the zone. What is the zone? It’s somewhere where I can actually think. So it’s really the thinking zone. Or is it the zone of thinking that I’m thinking? No, it’s the focus zone. Because sometimes I’m so far in the zone that I don’t think. I focus. I do. I am in the zone.
