(to be sung in the tune of a late night drinking song:)
She lay there in the minefield
her body strewn apart
it was hard to get the stretcher in
everything was torn apart
blood was oozing everywhere
lives were torn apart
yo-ho-ho grab a stretcher for her heart
(Chorus)
singing yo-ho-ho and a bottle of gin
ye-ha-ha you say this is a sin
but I don’t have much use for sin these days
life is a work of art
yo-ho-ho grab a stretcher for my heart
Her mind saw the whole scene from above
but there was nothing it could do
her heart was cut in pieces
beyond the healing touch of glue
as many looked upon the scene
just quite not sure to do
the mind just shook it’s head and said
I wish I were there too
(chorus)
It watched as she was wheeled away
that sunny afternoon
thrilled they got all the pieces
and they’d know what to do
the surgery was tricky
as it was so darn brand new
yo-ho-ho grab a stretcher for my heart
(chorus)
The surgeon we very confused
never seen a case like this before
as the mind tried to follow
it ran into a closed door
the pieces of her body were strewn across the floor
yo-ho-ho grab a stretcher for her heart
(chorus)
it took great time and patience
to sew up the big mess
the mind waited patiently
thinking it was a test
I will emerge stronger
I will finally get some rest
yo-ho-ho grab a stretcher for her heart
(chorus)
After hours and hours of surgery
the heart was all fixed up
except for one small piece
that they got all mixed up
it landed in the trash can
amidst the gloves and waste
yo-ho-ho grab a stretcher for her heart
(chorus)
Finally the door opened
and she emerged anew
peaceful and contented
she seemed almost brand new
the mind rejoined the body
life could go on new
but something was now missing
in the dump it would live now
yo-ho-ho grab a stretcher for her heart
(chorus)
They saw that hearts are
the trickiest organi to mend
even with surgical tools
and plenty of money to spend
but people go on living
joy can still be found
so pass me the bottle
and we’ll go another round
singing…
yo-ho-ho and a bottle of gin
ye-ha-ha
and you say this is a sin
but I don’t have much use for sin these days
life is a work of art
yo-ho-ho…bring a stretcher for my heart
a stretcher is a device used to carry injured persons, sometimes people fall off and are injured worse but sometimes they rided it like chariots carrying them home with their fist raised in salute to the fans that cheer them on emphatically.
Life is short
and life is long,
life is one big
sad, sad song.
Life ends so quick
and goes so slow,
why does death
feel like an obstruction to the flow?
The scene was remarkable. All of us stood outside staring in disbelief. The old man from next door with the sweet face and absurd amounts of grocery products had died. “It was yesterday,” the coroner told us, loading him onto the stretcher. “Wow,” my roommate marveled. “I just saw him the other day–he was entering his apartment with bananas and plums.”
smith ambulance. someone is hurt or someoneis dying. people better act quickly and get that person help. im scared and im praying i get nervous. i hope everything is okay
Clint is no stranger to medical procedure. he finds himself often in the medbay hooked up to top dosage painkillers that could probably knock out a horse. Sometimes he wonders how he got into this position – what the hell happened that he’d become a top assassin, a top fighter… This was never how he imagined his life to be when he was a kid.
But in a way, he was glad it did.
A man lies mangled and bloody, one arm hanging limp off the side while they load him into the ambulance. He looks dead, but the EMTs can see that he is still clinging onto this world with a slippery, yet persistent grasp.
wishing on the strecher
sighing while i help her
what do i do while i live in this hell
sing loud o Lord is how ill be
what am i do to without you with me
nothing to do but wait for your Mercy
help her o Lord
save this beautiful life
I heard my cousin had to be on a stretcher because he had an accident while playing soccer. They described the stretcher to be so fragile because his body was so big.
The stretcher whizzed through the dreary hallways of the hospital. The man was dying. Not likely to last the night, conceded by the mouths of many of the staff.
It wasn’t hard getting you onto the stretcher, but convincing you to stay on it, to take the ride to the hospital, that was a feat worthy of legend. I still have the scars, pale against my tan skin, now that it’s July and you’re so far away I’m not even sure you remember who I am at this point. But that doesn’t matter.
The hospital stretcher was long white and full of menace. Elis imagined that at any moment the thing would turn into a coffin. That it would twist up and engulf her father, swallow him whole and bury him in the ground. ‘Wait,’ she wanted to cry.
I saw the man dead on the floor and was too stunned to move. It wasn’t fair, he tried to save my life but he was killed instead. When the ambulance came and put him on the stretcher I immediately got on too and went to the hospital as well. They checked me for any injuries and only found some minor bruises and cuts. In less than an hour the doctor came and told me that the man that saved my life was, officially dead. There was no possible way that he would ever hear me say thank you, that he would ever get to be thankful for his life, that his family would ever be thankful for this accident.
When I think of a stretcher I think of someone being hurt and being put onto a stretcher to go in an ambulance. I have never been on a stretcher or in an ambulance, but I can imagine it would be a scary experience. Hopefully it’s not one I ever have to go through for myself or my children.
I’ve read alot about stretchers
Never seen one in person
Only heard of in stories
I never thought they were real
Until my friend dies on one
He is alright now
He was saved
But everyone thought he was gone
Just gone
Left the world by way of a stretcher
He was knocked unconscience by a seizure while driving
He is a living miracle
It was like God reached down and said
“you are too young, you still have things to do
You cannot die yet you mortal fool”
his body lies on the silver stretcher
he had an inch for his life
we could see it all unfold
his eyes were blinking slower
and slower with every close.
the silver stretcher
rolled almost
in slow motion towards the red
lights.
he was going towards the lights
the inch of life he held so desperatly too
shortened with every
single
breath.
I am a go doer
A 10 mile a day runner
A morning stretcher
A don’t stop until it’s doner
I am not a quitter
I am a winner
And all the time I am getting stronger
Her latest infatuation, online dating, could her on a stretcher. It could lead to a heart attack…peptic ulcers… Though the latter would not need paramedics. Better management is needed. Go easy, sassy sistah. And lay off the saturated fats.
Online dating and its eventual outcome will never, however, replace her main addiction.
I am a gymnastic teacher. Well I dont really teach as much as I stretch. Thats right. I am a professinal stretcher. If a girl is ingured or even if the girl isnt injured. After a hard workout. She gets a free quality stretch..did I mention free of charge ;D
They walked solemnly with the stretcher suspended between them. The woman knelt cautiously beside the road in prayer that she had been spared, but asking the Lord to protect her dear child that she wouldn’t see on Earth again.
there was a man who was taken away on a stretcher as he was ill and had fallen down the stairs, no one knows how this happened but it it did. i miss my cat because he was stretched out over a fire and is now a big rug like those ones that rich famous people have. you can stretch so many things like animals but that’s mean and so we shouldn’t do it. dont you think ambulances look better with green on the side of them? like flowers frozen in the winter they release a kind of unexpected beauty.
He lay on the stretcher – splayed out in all directions and surrounded by family. “Why has this happened?”, his mother, Maria cried out. The ambulance attendants were trying to infiltrate the large group of family members standing around Jim’s body.
the stretcher was cold, hard against my skin, i ddint know what was happening my eyes were tight shut half because i couldnt open them half because i didnt want to. what was going on pain everywhere. i cant breath i can move a muscle. get me out, set me free, let me out of this vile world.
laid out. In the same place. Same pisition. All is stagnant. Including the thick air that becomes increasingly hard to breathe because it hurts my cilia. The pressure of it in my lungs, the unpleasant smell. Like mold and old forgotten hopes. Like a lost sense of direction being strapped down and told that now its time to start over and make your own way
It started out as what I thought would be a normal day. It was supposed to be a good day. However, on my walk, a drunk driver hit me on the sidewalk. The impact made my head spin with the pain. I was blacking out but the world seemed to light up too. It seemed so confusing, yet I could make sense as to what was going on. I was dying. There was no doubt. What I didn’t expect, was what happens AFTER you die. That’s something nobody knows. I still don’t. And I’m the dead one.
I am a stretcher. I like to stretch before i exercise and or eat salads. Salad is a funny word but i like to put dressing on it. The salad not the word. And whats the deal with hot pockets anyway? Burned my mouth bad on one the other day. i think I should sue. But theyre delicious, cant stop eating them. its a curse I tell you.
The stretcher rolled across the driveway, and I purposefully avoided eye contact. I didn’t want to see him because I couldn’t lie and the guilt would show red across my face. It was easier to just look away, pretend I was distracted.
someone died in a carcrash! The ambulance showed up and took the body away on a stretcher! His name was Giorgiano Ramonez. He was a famous artist and fashion designer. Officials think it was a head on collision while he was in his limo a semi came speeding along and ran into the front end of his car. It is a tragic day for all who loved the fashion industry.
Thing used to make taffy. Salt water taffy from Tennessee is the best. When I go down there with my family me and my dad go and watch them make it through the window. We have been doing that since I was only a few months old. Memories make me want to go back there :)
When my mom passed away of cancer, these gentlemen came to the house to take her away. They moved her out of the room like a piece of furniture, handling her awkwardly. THen they laid her on the stretcher. She was cocooned in what looked like white gauze. The gentlemen said..”This is it” and we all realized we would never see her again. I don’t know how long we stood there…
I always wanted to be carried somewhere on a stretcher. I think that would be fun and an interesting view to see clouds and trees as I moved horizontally through my day. If I could, I would want to experience wheeling myself around on a stretcher for a day. That would mean I would need people to push it around. I will work on that. Interesting.
This word might refer to someone who stretches. In that case, I was a little off target. I don’t want to stretch.
I was on a stretcher. Why on earth was I on a stretcher?! All I remember is driving…and there was a big crash…what happened?
“Why am I here?” I ask the paramedic.
