To toss out an idea, a phrase, is to subject it to the judgment of others. That's not what they mean, though; when they say "toss out" they mean to throw away, to make trash of, to never see again. Ideas and thoughts can be recycled and reworked once tossed out. Physical things are not the same.
The cracking, electric whir of creation in a silence otherwise palpable. Something was being born here, born of technology in a synthetic, sterile place with none of the warmth or organics of biotic birth. This thing would be as unfeeling and cold as its metallic mother.
High walls and a sense of unknowing; because a world of corners does not allow you to see ahead. It is impossible to predict what each bend will thrust upon you at its termination--this is the meaning of 'lost'. This is a maze.
