loft

The loft was empty, warm, and seemed inviting. How could a young couple resist it? But before long, their play was interrupted. The smell of fire from underneath, and restless horses stamping got their attention quickly enough. But maybe not before it was too late.

vase

The vase fell to the floor, but it didn't make a sound. All she could do was stare, jaw hanging open. She didn't hear anything really. The pain she felt in her back was all that consumed her at the moment. She hadn't expected it; wasn't ready for it. No one would try... Would they?

It was that sly little remark he had made that pissed me off so much. What did he MEAN by that? "You, little one." Was all he had said. Little, me? And what about me? It was kind of ominous, and creepy. But mostly, it made me mad, because I am NOT little!!!

Wrapped around you, I am. Like vines on a fence, like a ring on a finger. I can't get away from you. I don't want to. You have me all, all of me. And I know I have all of you. Cohesive like the bond of molecules. It's beautiful.

Her bow, she had made herself. Her father had shown her how. Now, it certainly was not the first one she had made. No, those ones were cheap and bad. This one she had worked for. This one was her prize. She had done an amazing job, she knew, because everyone eyed it with a glint of greed.

The string dangled from the rafters, swaying slightly in the draft. It had once held a pinata. but now, it held nothing. There was still candy on the floor. Bones of children littered the ground. And all because of one bomb. Everything gone.

clash

The clash that she heard from behind her scared her practically out of her wits. Spinning, she saw what was before her. Her brother, and her lover colliding. What could she do? She loved them both. "STOP!!" She yelled at the top of her lungs. She started screaming. "STOP!"

She was like a rocket, shooting off into the unknowable depths of space. She was going to explore the untouched, raise the sky. Her destination was unknown, but she knew that it was higher and better than what she had now. Nothing could stop the power she had. The liftoff had been far too strong.

The lantern swayed in the dark, bobbing around eerily. It was so quiet and the night just sounded dead. Not even a leaf twitching, or a blade of grass rustled by a small animal disturbed the dank air. Quiet, it was far too quiet, and something was very, very wrong.

I was sandwiched in between two of the most unappealing people in the world. The flight was going to be a long one, too. I was dreading it. I could smell sweat and unshowered fat people all around me. I thought I might throw up. I started saying a little prayer.
