Deserve. How do we know if we deserve something? Who deserves anything? Are we all deserving all of the time? Or some of the time? Why does one group tell me I'm deserving of a life of love and happiness while when I proclaim that for myself people look at me like I have my head up my ass. Like I think I'm more deserving of love and joy than anyone else.
A boy walked down the alley way. Very preoccupied with his one two feet. He ran his hand through is hair absent mindedly until he felt the hair gel and remembered he'd spiked it that morning. A sheepish look crossing his face as he withdrew his hand. He was lost. Not in the city. He knew the area. He was lost in life.
Over the course of the past year she had thrown everything she had into becoming eligible to be chosen to compete on behalf of her team. She hit the gym everyday. She practiced until her body shook with the effort to stand. She wasn't taking no for an answer.
The unthinkable had happened. She got a job in another country. They paved the way for her paperwork. The company was paying for the plane ticket. Her bags were packed. She couldn't believe her luck. All her life she had dreamed of moving to Europe but with the current work laws she never saw it happening.
Her legs trembled as she crossed from the dock to the ferry. It was the first one she had been on since the accident.
I stood on stage. Looking on the crowd and knowing that a piece of me wasn't aware of what I was doing. I was selling my body to buy my life. Guys cheered me on, threw money at me but I knew there was nothing that could fix the damage I had done.
What is real? How do I know my dreams aren't real and what I am seeing now is a distorted form of reality? Is love real? Can you be linked to someone in such a manner? Is it natural? The topic of real is much like that of truth for me. All it does is bring me questions.
I love visiting other countries. It's my passion. I love throwing myself out of my comfort zone, into unfamiliar places, situations and among unknown faces. There is something thrilling about it. Your adrenaline starts pumping and at any moment you can turn a corner and find something amazing.
Speech is an key part of communication. Most of us use speech everyday. It's interesting being thrown into a situation where you can't understand those about you's speech. Although a certain amount of information can be gathered with hand gestures, body language and tones. Don't believe me? Then go abroad.
I was second away from banging my head against the desk. I had flipped through the reference book in my lap a thousands times and I still couldn't find the answer to my question. My teach swore to me the answer was within its pages. I'm beginning to think him a sadist.
