She stood facing the door, her mouth open in shock. There was no way that just happened, it just simply wasn't possible. Could it all have been a lie?
I carressed the soft, velvety ears of my old teddy bear thoughtfully. It'd been a while since I'd felt the need for comfort from a stuffed animal, and yet it had always been there for me.
I think I just wrote about the beach yesterday, but so much more exists besides the waves and the sand and whatever else I said. There are also all the creatures that live in the water of the beach, or even in the sand. No one ever thinks of them though, they only think of the fun they're having tanning and swimming. Weird.
The beige grains of sand drift lazily over my feet with the wind, as I sit and stare dreamily out into the frothy waves. Little kids screams of joy echo around me, but that's not what I'm paying attention to. It's the vast expanse of blue that has taken over my vision.
Everyone's been writing about the tide of the ocean, how it drifts back and forth, slowly and carefully. But what everyone has forgotten is the way it gets rough. The way it gets angry. The way it pulled her back under time and time again as I watched, helpless, from the shore.
