I wished that I was a kite when I first saw you
I knew in that instant that you were going to be my judgement day,
and all I really wanted to do is soar far away from you, so that I could keep from memorizing how your face looked when you were about to smile.
I felt myself press up against you but you didn't cave, all I was looking for was for you to melt the ice I found in my veins.
But you were too hot, and I was too cold, and we both fell apart.
So maybe that's why I wake up in the morning and take flaming hot showers
and drink coffee until my tongue burns off, because it tastes like you.
