it was a feast for the eyes the way you looked back at me. we could get lost in the garden sunlit by the ring of your irises.

there was a glint in your eye when we departed at the station. I knew I'd see you again, so I said goodbye without hesitation.

Oh, it's like a heatwave; when the liquid ruptures beneath the spleen and what's left is acid-washed hands.

You came to my table, with a wad of ones, and some crumpled mystery. I stopped writing for you, you know? It's like a phantom limb that can only sometimes stop itching; and my voice is now lost in a faceless blur. I came to your table as sacrifice, with an apple in my mouth, a pig in my eye. Blink not once, but twice, when I cry. So it's just like dining, when you are feeling alone. You have eaten at my table, on my vacuum heart throne.

You took charge, like you were built with a whip. A sharp tongue that could cut you down with only one quip. And I see the way your eyes stretch when you scream. It is hollow and intoxicating, without any gleam. So I hide, tucked, near the moon, in the starry night. This is just what happens. Turn off the light.

So the doors were like mirrors, when I slammed my fists against their surface. So little rays came from the sun, when our irises split, with shrapnel and debris. It was nothing but conflict, like raging war within the gut. You were nothing but the spirit of the eyes being open while shut.

Just like that, so automatic with a heartbreak graphic, and a lame emphatic. You gave up, so fickle a tiny machine, you trickle. Stuck, again, in the pickle with you.

Like daisies you pushed me, but from six feet above. I didn't know what to hold onto, only facing push and shove. You didn't know the how to keep, and only showed partial love.
