I missed them as soon as I stepped outside the door. It had only been a couple of days, but I felt comfortable there. Maybe I just felt like I was around people that actually liked me. It made me feel safer than I should have felt, being so very far away from home.
I could hear steps in the darkness. Soft, light, ever so careful steps. Someone afraid of being heard yet more afraid of being alone was approaching, searching some consolation and company from the rest of us in the dark place.
"Come closer", I smiled. "We won't hurt you."
Trains carry all kinds of travellers all kinds of places. I like them, a lot. I like how I can spend hours just sitting there and stare at the world outside the window as the train goes by it. I love the feeling of being on my way to some place.
I think it's rather important to have some kind of ego boost every now and then. Just to not forget that there's something rather nice and awesome in all of us, despite how clichée that may sound ...
Finals. Tests. Thinking too much and yet not thinking of the right thing in the right moment. My thoughts feel scattered and confused when I look at the study papers. Well, I'll have to do it this year too. Get my grades, survive, do what's expected. Pass finals. Hopefully, I'll be able to find the right words when I need to.
There was no specific word to describe how it felt. She searched for one, but just couldn't find anything fitting. There were plenty of words that almost fit, but not quite. It was just too complex, too much to explain. And she wasn't sure how to deal with it.
Basic needs, basic colors, basic things. Needs like love, food, water, shelter, all those evry important things that you should collect and keep close to your heart. Basic colors to light up the grey days, anything to make you smile. It's what we all need, I suppose. It's the basics.
With needle and thread she created little wonders - dresses, skirts, blouses. All very well made and extraordinary. It was meditative, and she loved her works. The seamstress.
I'd revolt against anything, and stand up for whatever I believed in. Whatever it might be at the time - I changed a lot. They gave me strange looks as I walked past, but I held my head high. It wasn't easy, of course, but I kept doing it because I didn't know who else I would be.
