The ground was coated in snow; footprints scattered everywhere. The snow seemed so fragile, disturbed by the protruding footprints above it.
After I had saved her, everyone turned to look at me in awe. I knew what they were going to regard me as a 'hero', but inside I didn't feel like one. I felt empty; unworthy of a title.
The scent surrounded me as I entered the petrol station from my car. It was stuck to the wind; following me into the dilapidated excuse of a shop.
I feel empty; nothing else is left. I have done all I could, yet nothing could ever save me.
