Belief is a weird thing. Historically all around the world people use it to justify heinous acts, religiously, in the “name of their god”. Preventing others that don’t share that belief from committing “acts of sin”. It’s a sin to exists in a way their belief system says is wrong. But if everyone is wrong, then nobody is right. And honestly, we’re all just being lazy by pinning the blame on belief.
