  2. Bland is very boring food. There is really not taste. I think of pudding with the lumps. My mother used to make it–it is called Tapioca pudding. I also think of the hospital when I worked in the kitchen. Some patience were put on the bland diet. I wouldn’t like to be on that for very long. Life can be bland. When it seems to be same thing every day. Luckily, snow is on its way and so this very mild, bland winter will son be ending.

It will sit there on the floor. And put your notes together like a child arranging your wooden puzzle pieces in place.

  22. Bland was hardly what you could call his life.

As long as he could remember he had been thinking of things that only a few others dared to think. You could call him a rebel or a deviant. But most of all, he preferred to be called a human being.

  24. Bland isn’t always a bad thing. Not everything has to be spicy, or jazzy, or otherwise spruced up. Sometimes vanilla is a perfectly acceptable flavor, without the addition of nuts or sprinkles or even chocolate. Once in a while my taste buds need a break. I don’t need to condimentize my world. Sometimes, no stimuli is good stimuli. Bring on the blandness, says I!

  25. Bland. Bland. Bland. Bland. Everything is bland and repetitive in my life. I need change.

  28. She looked out the window and felt nothing. The food in this place was tasteless, even the world outside the metal grate looked bland. The doctors said it would pass but when? When would she touch something and feel it, Be able to breathe the scent of a rose or a handsome man’s aftershave and be stirred by it, instead of this emotionless existence.

  29. Have you ever felt like, maybe, just maybe, you were destined for something greater than the life you’re in? That maybe you’re not suppose to be like everyone else; like every other girl; like every other university student. Maybe there really is a place out there for someone like you. There has to be more for a person like you. For a person like me. More than just the mechanical drone of traffic each day as you walk to class. More than the repetitive relationships with people that end quicker than they begin. More than going out on Friday and Saturday and even sometimes Wednesday nights to get belligerently drunk, just to feel something (even if it’s only the burn as it goes down your throat, or the drop of your stomach when you puke it back up). More than falling asleep every night in the middle of a novel, reading stories about the lives you should be living.
Or maybe not. Maybe I’m just letting those silly story books and movies go to my head, make me believe that my shi**y life is meant to mean more than what it actually does. Maybe you do belong in this bland world of white wash walls, stacks of paper and flasks of whiskey.
But maybe you don’t. And that’s what gives me hope.

  30. Without….my life would be bland without children. Bland without a great husband. Bland without chaos and craziness from work and home life. Everything is bland without any spice. Spice up life, live it up and don’t be bland.

    Meredith Love

  36. She waited weeks for this special dinner. The table was set. She dieted religiously for a month and paid her fair to get in. She looked stunning in her new dress. All anticipation was destroyed with the first and only bite. She was told she can meet her maker after her final meal. Sh hadn’t paid the fair after all. The price would be her blood. Too bad the meal was bland.
