There was something about dancing that was suffocating. So many bodies mashing up against each other, throwing extremities wide, eyes closed, laughing loudly. there was an energy in the room; impossible to read or gauge with tools, but palatable all the same.
To everyone but her, of course. She was never one to “feel”. Such things were pointless for blades.
As I walked through the street the leaves danced all around me. The crisp cool autumn air made it only feel more like fall. The trees a gorgeous orange and red. I felt as though I was in a dream but it all felt too real. But it couldn’t be real, not with what just happened…

I’ve never been a dancer, and i can’t move my body like that. I don’t think it’s particularly fitting for me to dance, not my thing, but sometimes i wish i could. My body isn’t one with my mind, you know? i have such a hard time moving how i want, flowy and free. Maybe one day i’ll learn so i can do it at family weddings.

The ballroom was far too chilly. Freezing in fact. I stared out the window, watching snowflakes drift by, but that just made me even colder. I shivered. Freezing. Why was it so cold? No one else seemed to notice as they whirled and twirled around me. Why, that one girl, she was in a sleeveless dress! How? I was wearing a jacket and I was still shivering like mad!

Dance is about having fun and communicating with your partner. It doesn’t matter what dance you are doing as long as you are doing the same dance as each other. It is making art with your body, enjoying how your body moves. Wear something that makes you stay temperature cool as y

and sway me
back and forth
until i’m soothed
like a child
and i feel

i’m all right
because i’m yours
and you’re mine
in our bubble
of clumsy feet
and chuckles,

Not everyone admits that they have a desire to dance. It does not need to be perfect — it does not even need to be good — just enough of body movement to express… to let out… to feel.
i hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean.

she called, dance and faster and faster they went, they twirled and pun and laughed across but all the while worried and watching, dnacing to keep it all moving, dancing so that it will not stop. Hoew much it had all changed, what the dance, what any dancing had meant. Where once light and joyful, now it was on a knifes edge
