  1. I’ve derived meaning from many things in life and my real knowledge has come from realizing that there is not one truth that exists. One can find meaning in anything and that meaning is connected to the self. It illuminates what is inside your soul and speaks of no one but yourself.

  2. leaky, like really leaky, like really really leaky all over the kitchen floor. it’s 2 am and anna has been sleeping through this for a whole hour. i’m doug i hate my name. the kitchen sink is leaky, really really yaddi yaddi ya. so we ate dinner last night and we ate dessert late night and we cleaned the dish and left the pot to soak in the leaky leaky sink. stupid humans are we. the faucet leaks, the sink leaks, the floor is wet. really wet. good thing we have a dog.

  13. And X is … the answer is derived from … man. This is like … something out of my worst nightmares. Numbers, figures, exponentials. Something about an order of operation? Far as I’ve been able to figure, math is something like a foreign language, and I don’t speak it. Heck, I’m not even sure I can read the alphabet.

  19. Math humor tells us never to drink and derive. But that doesn’t make sense. Calculus is difficult enough to understand when you’re not under the influence of alcohol. Why the hell would I try to attempt my math homework while drunk? English, that’s a homework assignment to tackle while tipsy.

  22. A lot of words have derivations. So do names. For example, Henrietta is derived from Harriet which is derived from the male Harry. Actually, maybe Henrietta is derived from Henry. That would make more sense, but I’m pretty sure I read about Harriet.

  23. Everything that ever was or ever will be came from something else. Even the air we breathe. It’s the reminisce of some sad star once circling in a galaxy us little Earthlings never get to see.

    I guess in that sense, I shouldn’t be surprised by the way things turned out.
    But I was.

    You hear the start of my story on the news all the time: “I never thought it could happen to me.” You never hear the poor, bereaved parents spouting that they knew the risks. They never sob, “We planned for this,” at the camera in their pastels and pearls. No. It always “came out of nowhere” and no one ever thinks “it could happen to me.”

    But everything that ever was started as something else, and this tragedy was once a happier tale about a girl that thought a boy could change her world… and I guess, in a sense, she was right.

First it must be passed through a filter made from a sheep’s bladder filled with the neck hair from a Spotted Norwegian mole, harvested during a full moon in late fall. The reduced crystalline powder, dissolved in female deer urine and inhaled while boiling, makes toe hair grow quite curly and fine making for excellent leprechaun pillow filler.

For whichever came first must needs be the stronger, in order to bring the other to be. In one myth, the woman was created from the bone of the man.
