It was quite the dilemma, Mark thought, as he stood stock still in the supermarket. It wasn’t a prisoner’s dilemma, or even a tough choice, like Sophie’s Choice. What meat would be best, Mark thought, until he remembered his girlfriend was a vegetarian.

The dilemma is I’m not a perfect judge of character even though I always try to approach the subject of study mindfully and with fair consideration. Yet there are so many dimensions to a personality. Things you cannot possibly know, only guess at, sometimes accurately more often than not. Still, it’s not 100% this process of weighing the worth of someone’s character in relation to you. There’s the one you 99.9% thought would always treat you as if you mattered to them, but it was a front, and there’s the one you never thought would say anything on your behalf let alone reveal what they really think of you in person. That’s the mystery of life for you. And it seems the surprise is the confidence game coming to that final conclusion.
A pause or break in your day to day life or anything. Something that holds a burden on you for wasting valuable time and energy. A break in anything that can uphold a situation

there she was, torn between choices, does she go with him? Or does she follow her own path? She had no idea. Torn, she looked away and bit her lip. damn. it was really hard to choose. I mean, why did it have to be him of all people? Sighing, she finally brought up her eyes to meet his. green. bright and shining as they were the day that she had met him.

Here I sit…postponing the inevitable as I committed to reading fiction. They lie to my right, slumped over, initially excited that I chose them. Face down, a sense of being used. The same dilemma I feel I am in when my body does what my spirit is against.
There’s being tied in knots, and then there’s feeling irrevocably Gordian. Sometimes I get so churned about it that I want to screw the path function and cut myself loose in some sort of Alexandrian autopsy, but that would be cheating. Struggling, likewise, only tightens the rope. Nothing to do meanwhile but wait for the oh-of-course to undo me: familiar as a garter, sly as a cat’s cradle.

i see you starting to stare
i feel so lost in a second
as our eyes meet
a quandry
to forgive or forget
the feeling, unsettled
monotheism would have the answer
if i could just believe enough
not 100%
but just enough to buy into a product
that has a terrible record
like the us government
i want to kiss your face
therein lies the dilemma
we’ll never be together
so serve me my fries
and say goodbye

She followed him through the hallway, like a hero traveling through a dungeon with only a string guiding them. Or were they leaving the string? If so, his string was his hair. Darker than everything else, she hurried after it. Gripping her backpack tighter, she slid and ducked past other students, finally entering a clearing where she could walk with him. He hadn’t even known she was gone, she decided. This was a dilemma. How would he even like her if she doesn’t exist?
Money is a problem right now, as it usually always is. Dilemmas come and go, though, but hopefully this will be a minor and temporary problem. However that doesn’t mean it’s an easy dilemma to deal with. Still, struggling with a child on the way doesn’t help with extra stress. How do others deal with such problems? I mean, really. It’s hard to be an adult sometimes when you’re not sure how life is going to work out anyway. Thanks, Anxiety. You’re my biggest dilemma.
every once in awhile i get into an emotional dilemma. that is unavoidable and frustrating beyond belief. and yet whenever i figure the dilemma out, my world has a new and clearer perspective. often a dark one, but still clearer.
“Well, this is a pain in the neck,” Charlotte quipped sardonically as we sat cross-legged in her bedroom, eating chips and drinking her father’s beer. “Either we get suspended or even expelled from school, or we end up wreaking havoc attempting to cover our tracks by silencing the principal. What a f***ing dilemma!”

So what do you do? Hope he dies or do something to hasten the event? Hoping, as we know, has its drawbacks, mainly, it doesn’t work. It’s really an exercise in some kind of crazy faith that there’s a being out there somewhere that is listening to what you want and getting the order straight, then delivering on what you asked for. The other way has its great positives. One, you decide when the bastard should go instead of someone else making the decision, namely, that character you’ve taken your hope to. Two, once you’ve dispatched the bastard, you can spend your time dealing with the guilt; this would’ve been time you spent hoping, which wasn’t very productive at all. So you’re doing something productive, which is dealing with your guilt. All good, since what you wanted in the first place–for the bastard to be gone–happened. So the thing here is to keep your eye on the prize. You want the bastard gone? Do it yourself. Realize, of course, that somewhere down the line, you may have to explain, let’s say to a judge and jury, why you felt it necessary to get rid of him. That doesn’t always play out; the definition of ‘bastard’ varies from mind to mind, so there’s that. But it seems that, even when you’re sitting there waiting for the jury to come back, you still have the satisfaction of know that the bastard is never coming back. There’s that. You have to let that be the reason for everything. So the dilemma isn’t really a dilemma. It’s freedom. Isn’t it?

The dilemma I have gotten myself into isn’t really much of a dilemma now that I have chosen to accept it. There is no other way to continue on in the relationship; it’s gotta go. The time has come to see it for what it is. Actually, the true dilemma was in not recognizing how sick and rancid the relationship was for my soul. I have now recognized it, let it go–and glory be, i am dilemma free.
It was quite a dilemma. There was no internet in the house at all, and the TV was broken. The speaker was busted, and her phone was cracked. The world was ending for Jamie, a 16-year old girl, and she had been reduced to reading. For fun. As enjoyment.
This seems to be what the world has turned into. The population made up of bookworms, is decreasing. Reading is going out of fashion, and is no longer cool. There are countless of amazing books left to acquire dust on forsaken shelves. Numerous worlds, just waiting to be accessed by the simple touch of fingers against a gilded cover. Characters, tense and ready, awaiting the very moment when their stories will flood the mind of a daring soul. There are few of us left that feel this way. That see books as worlds unto themselves, and not burdens to be endured.
I had to decide which person to agree with, which is exactly the type of decision I never want to make. Neida assured me it wouldn’t matter who I sided with, and Orsia assured me that it wasn’t about taking sides. I kicked around the edge of the rug and cursed them both for lying.
I have a problem. I call my best friend. The girl who has suffered me turning up like Mary Poppins to clean both myself and her house up once in a while. Let’s make this crash site look like a launch pad. The last time I appeared was when she was literally pulling her hair out during finals week. I hitched over to London from Italy and she was so glad and pissed off when she opened the door. I was the safety net to accelerate her breakdown that time…as she’s been there every time my hare brained theories of meaning went awry (like half the projects in her broken fridge) and I ended up weeping in shame.
Anyway, when shit hits the fan, you call her. Just dial Emma.

The dilemma is whether to write about the dilemma or not. It’s probably a good idea to get your thoughts down in writing, but the dilemma which remains is, how accurate the truth is that you are trying to portray. Or does it even matter?

Here it is. The crossroads. The decision that is forced upon you. The one that you would have had to make, whether you willed it or not. It has come, and unless you wish it to haunt you like a shadow that follows you from one incarnation to the next, it would be wise to make this choice her and now. So what will it be? Do you choose the rock? Or the hard place?
She thought and thought about it. She had broken up with her boyfriend and Sadie’s boyfriend was know looking her over. In fact, she had broken up with Seth because of the way that Sadie’s boyfriend looked at her. Sadie was his best friend, but kinda boring. She sucked on the milkshake at the diner, both elated and saddened by her dilemma. She finally decided she would make her move.
As she left the diner, she saw a flash of light. “That’s funny, there’s no a cloud in the sky.” Then she heard thunder. On the horizon, she saw a mushroom cloud rising. She wondered what it could be. Where had she seen this before? Was it in a history book?
