  3. rod that catches light and traps it good and tight. Won’t hurt you now. Has to find a way to light again and again. Another storm moving on to the next good spot. maybe a rod, a tree and mountain top maybe a lake. Always coming again and again in storms in summer.

  7. When I was little, lightening used to terrify me. The booming thunder that followed was even worse. Now, I see it as energizing! It inspires awe and respect, but it means a STORM! The very best kind of natural inspiration.

  10. I like pictures of lightning. But I could never be a stormchaser. Lightning makes me think of power, and lots of it. It reminds me of magic. When there’s lightning the ozone in the air crackles and burns… leaning out of a hotel window during a storm, the Colorado mountains and flowers below, lightning above.

  13. i love lightning. mostly because it’s a freak of nature act out from the sky. it’s really entertaining and scary at the same time. i don’t mind the thunder either. both of them are sincerely awe inspiring. photos of lightning never seem to amaze me. and people who have been struck and survived are the most.

    It’s something that some people are afraid of because it can kill you if you’re in the wrong place at the wrong time.
    There’s reason for lightning and the way that it does what it does.

  15. I like the thought of lightning crashing against the ground. The beauty not in the strike but in the color of the light coming off of it. It can be true, and it can hurt. It’s one of those beautiful things that nature can make, and also destroy.

  23. Laying asleep on my bed; trying to fall asleep; failing as usual; tossing and turning every thirty seconds…as usual; suddenly struck by lightning; shooting straight out of bed; mind on fire; nerves supercharged; no sleep now. As usual.

  24. The sky was breaking, disintegrating, as the lighting hit the ground with the thud of a giant’s footsteps. It cracked into pieces, like old paint, curling up and falling, raining down onto the ground, the manicured lawns of Suburbia littered with grey shards of cloud and air.

  26. Lighting is very beautiful up in the night sky or even during the day. There is a term called heat lighting and many people believe that it is a real thing, but in all actuality the term means there is a thunderstorm way off in the distance causing lightning, but most don’t know that. On that note lighting is a very cool thing. :)

  33. Te thing that scares me most about lightning is that you can feel it when you’re about to be struck. In the two seconds before electricity suges through your body and blows off the soles of your rubber-soled shoes, your hair will stand all over. You’ll get an immense tingling sensation. It’s almost comedic.

  34. I’ve heard you shouldn’t hide under trees or other hight objects when lightening strikes. but what welse are you supposed to do? I don’t care much about lightenings to be perfectly honest. There’s rather a more relevant mystery to my life in my head. I think I’m in love with him (no, not the lightning0). But I am not sure as I have never been before plus it’s unknown if we can stay together in a gloomy soon future. Fuck the uncertainty about wether the one’s you care about will be in your live within a week or not. Sounds like a toast to me! Goodnight!

    It’s been storming for two days, lightning striking everywhere and releasing buckets of ice cold water into my stomach to form acidic ice to penetrate my stomach lining and cause me to panic. I won’t be over the tornado for a long time.
