  5. The manifestation of the shadow, of her image. It hurt, it hurt like hell like all your insides had been devoured. It hurt like hot irons had been driven through your heart. You couldn’t stop seeing it, not her face but her soul. She was everywhere but next to you.

  6. He wrote the last sentence at the bottom of the page, signed it with his name. A sigh broke the silence of the dark room, a noise he had made without realizing it. His heart felt heavy as he placed the paper in the envelope, and sealed it with wax.

  7. He’s here
    I don’t know how.
    I don’t know when.
    I don’t know why.
    He just showed up.
I’m not sure if I want him to stay
Or if I want him to leave.
I guess I’m going to find out.

  8. We trick our minds. They manifest powers we do not have. We let ourselves believe in things that do not exist. We fear the impossible and trust the dangerous. Our experience is a manifestation of what we’ve tricked our brain into believing. Fake it until you become it.

  9. it’s interesting how these things manifest themselves, right out of the blue. there’s no pretense or warning but suddenly there it is. how one minute she doesn’t even matter and the next she’s the face painted to the back of your eyelids and the name you test out a million different ways to taste just how right it feels. you’ve never been the type of person to fall to the point of obsession, to dream about conversations and looks and touches.

  10. Manifest destiny is a strange thing people believe in. I don’t understand why people think everything they do is predetermined by God. I guess I don’t get where they draw the line. Did God decide eons ago that you’d go to the bathroom seven times today? Did He determined what you’d have for breakfast this morning? If this is true, do you have any kind of free will at all? It would be creepy if you didn’t. That would really bite.

  11. She felt the power in her hands. The blue cold orb swirled it’s flames as she manifested her deepest thoughts into it. Who knew she could wield such power? Well, the prophets that summoned her did. She focused on her hands, on the hate in her heart and manifested this beautiful orb. How could such a pretty thing come from such a dark place?

  12. My mind comprises the universe. It knows no bounds. However, in reality it is bounded by the confines of my skull. I must manifest my thoughts in real-world matter, minds, and events.

  17. Manifest destiny – such an interesting play of words. Manifestig ones future, bringing it into clear intention and moving in that direction. Attraction. Also, considered a future state that is our right. Some things haven’t changed. Some ideas carry through time but are held within different contexts.

  18. Manifest destiny is one of the worst things our country has thought of. Manifest destiny is the reason we continued to push west, even though we were killing many innocent people as we did it.

  20. He manifests himself everywhere in my mind. WHether I’m reading, cooking, sleeping, watching a movie. He is always there and he is always destructive. It’s genuinely concerning how much I think about him at this point. It scares me.

  22. The manifest clearly showed the names in the log. Etched in black and white, she was looking at footsteps from her own past. The mystery of why wasn’t solved by any means, but at least she would know who they were and, perhaps, a tiny glimpse of who she was at last. If she could discover the truth about her parents, she might solve the puzzle of how to save her son’s life. She took a photo of the pages in the book and left a little lighter than she had been when she arrived. A pair of eyes watched her leave, cell phone to their ear. “Yes, she has them. Do we need to remove a problem? …. Yes, I understand… I’ll take care of it.” The man walked up to the pedestal and gazed at the words on the page before him. His eyes widened as he saw the names on the paper. He took a few steps back, slowly walking to the door as the pieces slipped into place. He looked at his phone with anger. “So that’s what this is all about. This changes everything.” She was no longer a problem in his eyes; in fact, she was about to become an accomplice in justice.

  23. My blood was manifesting in the cauldron. I couldn’t stop the pounding in my chest. I could TASTE the power boiling inside of me. The potion was almost complete. Everything was becoming very intense. Lights, colors…Everything was coming into place.

  26. I wrote in the manifest. I did. It was there. And now it’s gone. You erased it, didn’t you? You are trying to prove something – prove I’m incompetent, prove those deaths were my fault. But I know the truth. Only one death is my fault, and that one hasn’t happened yet. Now that you’re here though, we can clear that right up.

  27. The words manifested themselves somewhere deep inside his chest, almost like a prayer. “Tom,” Dean said, his breath being ripped from his throat. “I don’t think I can go on anymore without you, you prick. My words never sound as good when they’re not being shouted at you.”

“Oh, good,” Tom smiled. “I actually wasn’t planning on leaving any time soon.”

  28. He told her why he did it. He had a family of his own once, and when he lost them, he needed someone else with whom to manifest his love, to exorcise the demons of loneliness that possessed and haunted him.

  29. ‘I remain the goddess’ tool and this has been my manifesto,’ I finished the line before signing my name at the bottom with a flourish. sliding the parchment across the table towards my scribe. “See this is kept in a safe place, won’t you? I’d rather not have to repeat myself.”
He swallowed nervously for, though my tone had been soft, the threat in my words had made it abundantly clear that keeping the scroll intact was good for his health. “Of course, your highness.”
I waved my hand. “That’ll be all.”
He bowed, taking the scroll reverently into his hands as he moved to depart. “Of course, your highness.”

  30. Like the ship’s manifest I was empty. How could this be? I had left the far harbor full at the seams. Full of brokenness. And now, after the water, I was empty. Clean. Sparkling. Because of God’s Son made manifest?

  32. THe manifestation of the disease was ravaging her body. Translucent fingers, translucent feet… a pale face, large circles under the eyes…

Yes, she was ravaged by that disease. Sometimes things would have been easier if she’d simply died when she was supposed to. But she hadn’t gotten the hint… and the disease had come, to make certain she did as she was supposed to do from the beginning.

  33. I manifest many feelings and emotions. They flow through me and sometimes control me. And then, the consequences of those emotions manifest themselves in others. It becomes a cycle that is difficult to break free from.

  34. Manifest Destiny. That’s what they always taught us about in history class. I remember seeing this painting of a lady in a white robe, beckoning towards the West. “Go West, young man.” What was so great about the West, anyway? I guess anything had to be better than the Northeast.

  38. The destiny we seek is of our own doing. How can we manifest our desires? The totality of the situation is too much for any human to undertake. But by taking a small step in the direction we most desire. That which we want to manifest will become our destiny.

    Carlos Pimentel
  39. The manifestation of her love life was something like a chocolate sundae with wasabi on top. He had bright green hair and a smile like a banana, a banana with frozen yogurt in the flavor of raspberries and cream and pink peppercorn. He wore horn-rimmed glasses some of the time, but never in the company of hipsters. He loved to skateboard, but only when no one was looking. In his private life, he read Dostoevsky and Martha Wells and sang Andrew Lloyd Webber.
