i like paperclips. they are useful and they are usually available. they make my papers stay in order and they can be in fun colors. also, when i was younger i would put them on my fingers to make them look like long finger nails. i was weird. but that’s okay. everyone was weird back then.

I wonder what percent of the populating legitimately use paperclips. I know I don’t. I suppose office-types might, anyone who works with paper. But the majority of society has had to think up new uses for them.

Paperclips.
I guess they’re a little useless.
All they do is keep papers together
But that’s what staples are for.
Like I said…
Useless.
What an unfortunate existence.
Paperclips… I relate to you.
Hold me together. I’m falling apart, drifting away from every other piece of who I’ve always been. Hold me together, like glue and paperclips. I need you to keep me from falling farther away from myself. Please.
She threw the dresser to the floor with a hasty effort. It landed with a heavy thud. A drawer fell open and from it fell three small red paperclips. Amy walked towards the dresser and put the paperclips in her pocket. For later, she told herself.

Paperclips hold things together, but only when they feel like it. Things can slip away, especially from the middle of the stack. and nobody will even notice. The cover will appear just as polished as always, just as put-together. But lift up the cover and you’ll find that a very, very essential element that somebody has worked so hard on and put so much time into, is missing.
They are versatile. Like…..napkins. Or heavy textbooks. Or people. Yes, paperclips are very much like people. Bendy and strong and useful and sometimes shiny or decked out in new colors or stripes.
paperclips are confusing. who invented them? and why are they so twisty? I cut myself on a paperclip once. several times, actually. I find staples much handier to bind papers together. then again, staples are permanent, which would can end up being quite inconvenient.
Michelle
The little guy at the bottom of the Word Document used to be so annoying. I think they finally banished him after they realized that no one wanted to be constantly prodded about various tasks they could achieve with the program. Or maybe he just creeped them out, too. The world may never know.

I laughed when i saw this theme. Paperclips are an amazing thing, not only for their function, which is quite beyond any other piece of wire, but also because they were one of the first things that Kayla and I started to trade, one of the first expressions of our friendship, and eventually of our love for each other. If nothing else, they are at the least a symbol of a binding of things, in our case a binding of two people. I try to carry at least one all of the time, and when I put my hands in my pockets and find a paper clip, it always makes me smile because I remember her.
Caleb
I’ve never been fond of paperclips. For one, they hurt when they stick to your fingers. I used to, however, as a child like paperclips because of a trendy thing we’d come up with. We’d make hearts out of them by squeezing both ends towards the center until the shape resembled a heart.
Andres
I use paperclips to clip my papers together. I need to clip my papers together when I have to print things out for school…primarily English class. I have lots of different colours of paperclips. My favourite ones are the red ones. But I also like the ones that I have that are purple. My brother also likes paperclips. But he doesn’t use them as much as I do. My teacher uses them the most though. That is why

I think paperclips are odd, but useful. As complex and twisted their design, their use is relatively simple. Attach. Attach. Detach. Attach. So on. Their use isn’t only limited to clipping together paper though, as their name might suggest. You can be creative with them. Nice.
Clayton
Paperclips are some of the most useful objects on my desk. They perform the function of holding loose sheets of paper together. They have a deceivingly complicated shape. It is an unusual fact, that whenever you happen to need a paperclip you will never find one.
Nishkaam
Paperclips are what hold papers together when you don’t have a stapler. This is why I like the internet. You don’t have to worry about such nuisances!
Ski
Paperclips are cool things, aren’t they? They have so many uses. Okay, maybe not, but they are still useful. They hold things like paper together. They can also be used to pick locks. I tried that a couple of times. Sometimes it worked. They also come in the most interesting shapes, don’t they?

awww togetherness. paperclips are the matchmakers of stationary. i love the colored guys. the bright ones. no pastels for me, please. i used to make necklaces out of them. i’m a fan.
I like to make necklaces out of paperclips. Even though the only ones i own are black and white. They make for some good bling. I’ll have to steal some from the school computer lab.
paperclips pink, yellow, blue and green

colorfully pretty

I have many paperclips on my desk. Green, pink, blue. I use them to organize my homework, which is a difficult task. There are two different sizes; I prefer the smaller ones. I am almost out of paperclips. I don’t want to buy more. I guess I am hoping that they will just magically appear on my desk.
Jaden
Such a great thing, being held together by a little twisted metal. Being prevented from falling apart. It’s something we need to appreciate. Something we need to give gratitude to; it keeps us from separating.
paperclips are awesome! how else would I be able to keep my papers together? You can also make them into necklaces, earrings, bracelets! So much fun! And they come in great colors, too!! Paperclips are so useful; thank goodness for paperclips!

they hold paper together. i like when they come in different shapes, thats always fun. making chains out of them might just be the best way to pass time when you should be doing something important! i like the containers with the magnets around the rim, they always made me chuckle back in the day, i’d always steal my moms and then play with them.
Hannah Sargel
Paperclips are made of metal. This metal twists around and enables one to hold things such as paper together. Sometimes, when I don’t have a bobby pin to put up my hair or hold it in place, I use a paperclip. Yup. How awesome are paperclips? Really awesome. That’s how

Paperclips fell off the edge of the scratched and weathered desk. The papers flapped in the light breeze. I held the one blue paperclip in my hand as i fumbled to slip it over the clustered sheets of smudged writing.
there you go, mounting me together between the craft of your fingertips. just willing me under each sheet, all of your reckless lovers. you’ll just leave me here, wont you? under the grasp of these paperclips. and we’ll mount the shelves in stacks of memories, forever remaining your untouched lovers.
They hold together the important things in life, those papers we depend so heavily on to pass a semester, photographs that tie together memories. Maybe they’re just there to entertain the child in her mother’s office hiding under the desk with nothing else to do but create an endless chain of a beautiful array of colors.

paperclips…they are very helpful and inventive. I like them. They are pretty useful… i used to bend them apart from their original shape and make little paperclip people. sometimes strewn them about my desk at school or where ever i was. staples are better though i must say…
Paperclips hold things together. Are they metal? They mostly bend, but they sometimes break. When they do break its shocking, being that you expect it to only bend.

I don’t know who invented paper clips, but they have been around for a long time. In this day and age however, a staple is far more practacle.

There were paperclips all over the floor alongside with every single item that his desktop one had held. He was underneath that desktop, legs close to his chest and face buried in his knees, crying.
Then he looked up at me and pointed at a bunch of papers that were held together by bright blue paperclips… they were the divorce papers.
they held the sheets together. four, unwilling sheets, brought together at the ease of my fingertips. and i wished, i wish dearly it would be that simple. for her and i to be two unwilling sheets, brought together by the ease of my fingertips, held together by two thin paperclips.

i wanted it all to be held together, all the information and feelings of all these people like blank papers and all of it held together with a paperclip. Please. I want it all together neatly, just sometimes, it might be easier.
