So often the past seems much more attractive than the world we live in today. More peace, simpler, pleasant. Until we are reminded of all the wars, racism, hate, poverty, and misery our ancestors endured. Then the past seems must more like a dream, neutral, neither all good nor all bad. It simply is.
in the past, a marvelous memory, a distant shroud. lingering in my mind like a rotten piece of fruit. maybe i’ll throw it away, get rid of that piece of my life.
I walked past the beach where you and me were once something and now we are nothing. That was the past and only the past it will never be the same ever again.
The past never escapes you. Consciously or not, it always has a claw into what you see and feel today. The best thing to do is to learn from it, and not to dwell on how good or bad things used to be. It’s a lesson, like a book you’d read in school.

In the past I used to whore my self out for that sweet crack cocaine. It was a simpler time, it was a better time. Unfortunately my reign of elation and carefree lifestyle had to come to a close.
This is about something that has already happened, as opposed to something currently happening, or something that might happen. We all have a past, and sometimes it is good to look back on the past to learn about yourself. Other times, it is just good to forget about the past and move on towards the future. :)

what we cannot erase. choose to learn from it or be stuck with it forever. memories. love. pain. remember everything, but do not dwell. be happy for what has happened because you are a better person now. don’t forget.
summer.
The past is a time when things were good and I was younger. The past is a place I can’t go back to and soon the present will become part of the past. The past grows and gets larger with every passing minute, like a monster waiting to swallow me. And with every passing minute, the future continues to shrink and becomes more impossible to grab hold of.

Well this one’s bound to bring up a lot of memories. And sadly, thinking about my “past” ultimately just leads my mind back to you. You, you, it’s always been you. I don’t know if i miss you but i know i hate you. Just leave me, my head and my heart alone.

The past is something that comes to everything. Everyone/thing has a past, and every past affects the present and future. Each moment becomes the past at some point.
Lauren Wardwell
The past cannot be altered, yet it can be changed. Depending on ones perception of the past at any present moment, they can change how they feel about what occurred in the past.

the past is unchanging. it’s a riddle that has already been unwound. Many wish they could rewrite the past, but their attempts are futile. They make machines and wish, but nothing happens.

Through all the sorrow
I will wait till the morrow
Through all the pain
That makes us feel so vain
All the sadness and tears
That build all our fears
Some know that love will not last
And escape to dreams to the past.
things that went by with the wind on a summer day… things gone and lost in the corners of one’s memories. Things that may come back but never be the same.

My Great Grandma passed away 2 weeks ago. Im going to her funeral this friday. She was extremely smart for a 96 year old.
The past is history
The futures a mystery
now is a gift
that’s why we call it the present
so don’t like back
at your frigid past
look forward if you want
but cherish what you have
right now
don’t let it slip up
or slide away

i dont like my past because of very bad events……………………….. : (
The past is that which can never be repeated again, yet we repeat it in memory so should I amend? We regret and lament for some fact that can’t be changed, an outcome, a small choice, it haunts us time and again, years down the road. Take what you can from the past, mistakes that were made should be be avoided when the time for such a choice comes again. It is this way we reconcile the past, we review and forget some moments but take the best with us. Seems like I’ve struck a chord in you, and in myself.
In the past, I might’ve told you to your face. Instead, today, I hold my tongue. You like me more. I like myself somewhat less. And when the train comes to a stop, we both get off at the same station, take hands, take heart, and emerge into the world with new eyes. It’s worth it. I think.
on the way to the store the man remembered his past and then passed out
