  1. Will you let me die, she asked. He shook his head. The pills sat in the palm of her hand, tempting her. Please, she begged. Again, all he did was shake his head. Why shouldn’t she take them? She looked down at them, her little gifts – from Satan or from God, if either even existed? She looked up at him. All he did was stare. To die, or not to die? Not to die. He smiled.

  2. I don’t like the idea of taking pills to fix things but i am really happy to have aspirin and antibiotics when I need them. I think that we need to look at bodies as systems rather than treating the symptom.

  3. You take them in your mouth, you digest, and they change you. Pills. They can make you better, make you worse, make you completely different. But is it really the pill? Or the expectation of what it brings?

  5. i take them like daily, pink and small…and like a child, the happiness they bring me is much like the smiles i used to get upon receiving my favorite candy.

  6. pills can be fun. and they can be bad. but mostly fun. my friend had this pill once. it made her go all insane. she ran around the neighborhood in her underwear and flip flops in the middle of winter. and then she puked green slime. it was a good night.

  7. Do you know what it is like to sweep a schoolhouse floor? There are pencils, and dust motes scuttling about in fear. Like pills of arsenic, they attack the dark cornere bugs.

  8. They take them and they hope they’ll get better. And essentially, that is exactly what it is: hope in very little packages.
    And the more hopeless they get, the more pills they’ll take and pray that this will make everything better. But the truth is: they rarely do.

  9. I took another handful of pills last night. Anything to make the pain go away. Alcohol no longer does anything but make me puke. Pills aren’t working very well either. I need to find a better way out of this depression. I hate my life.

  10. i wish there was such a thing as a happy pill. somedays i am just not happy and i want to take a happy pill so that i can put a smile on my face and live through the day without anybody asking me what’s wrong. i wish there could also be normal pills that you could take to help you fit in.

  11. They spilled out before me, all different colors and sizes. Mommy’s little helpers, I thought darkly. Sometimes I wondered if the other women in the PTA needed pills to make themselves feel sane again. We all shared wide smiles and tennis shoes, but did we have anything else in common?

  12. Pills reminds me of suicide i suppose… overdosing and what not. Also my father takes so much medication for his back and other problems. My sister depends on pills to function normally. I feel terrible for her in that respect. I hate pills… I try to avoid them at all cost just because of my experiences with them in life.

  13. Pills. Pink pills, purple pills, blue pills, I don’t do pills. I often find I write about them in poems, though, comparing them to orbits and milky way galaxies. I like the word pills. Or maybe I like the rainbow of colour pills come in.

  14. Pills. She pops them. She wondered how that phrase came to be. “Pop pills.” Because she realized that she doesn’t pop them. She places them simply on her tongue and waits for the coating to melt away and the medicine to fall down her throat.

  15. too many people rely on drugs to give them false emotions. life is about the experience, and if you falsify that experience, why live? i understand some need the drugs for medical conditions, but otherwise, experience life naturally. life is beautiful, and today is the day the Lord has made. :)

  16. You swallowed them like chocolate, which you also always ate too much of. Down they went, some to make you sleep, some to make you feel good, some just a random mix to cure illnesses you never had. The only illness that you had was not one to be cured by pills; you can never cure love.

  17. A word to describe cure all medicines and a euphemism for a difficult person who can be more trouble than they are worth. Come to think of it, the pharmaceuticals ca also prove to be more trouble than they are worth.

  18. Pills. all the different colors and shapes and sizes. so many do so many different things. headaches, backaches, sinus infections, allergies, pain…etc. People use pills for many different things, the goal is to not get addicted.

  19. She looked at the pills in her hand before tossing them nonchalantly into her mouth. Everyday, the doctor said, and then eventually she would begin to feel the effects. Her energy would return, the daylight would creep back in. But she couldn’t help wondering….can I do this on my own?

  20. I shook the pills out into my hand. Two fell out. I knew there were more in there. I kept shaking the bottle until 12 fell out. Two pills, 4 pills, 6 pills, 12. Just enough to take it all away for the rest of the day.

  23. She picked up the bottle of pills. So simple. Just take a few and sleep forever… just like Sleeping Beauty. The only difference is that Sleeping Beauty had a prince to save her. She didn’t.

She’d tried looking for him but Edward wasn’t coming back. She was tired of waiting. Bella downed the pills dry and this is how Twilight should have ended.

  27. Pills are sometimes bad for you. They can screw your life up and make you overdose. Sometimes, they can cure the simplest of headaches. It really sucks, though, when you overdose because you’re pretty much screwed. Well, not screwed, but dead. Which is almost as bad as screwed. Oh, and pills rhymes with dills. Like dill pickles. Dills.

  31. My dad used to sell pills just to put food on the table. It’s crazy ’cause I never knew growing up. He said he had his own business. I was so proud and looked up to him until my 12th birthday when I found out the truth… wow, impossible. I never knew we were in so deep. That we had it so rough. I guess its good to know that things can be that tough and I could still have such a happy childhood, so I do respect my father for that.

  34. Your pain isn’t really going away, you are only suppressing it. You are being silenced. You are being handled. Your life is now blurred, dulled down. Numbed. You may not feel it, but that does not mean that it is right for them to just treat it temporarily and put you off to the side. You are beautiful.

  36. Pills I need when I am sick. Took many of those in the past 6 months. For pneumonia, the flu, the migraines. Pills run the world. What would we do without them! Pfizer is the richest man on earth I think..He numbs us all.

  38. I used to have to take pills for an anxiety disorder. Personally, I hate taking pills. I used to have to take a huge pill every morning that would make me gag, but I guess I’ve gotten used to them now. Most people take pills for pain, but some people abuse pills to escape pain. Some people will use pills as a form of suicide, and some people use them as a form of escaping the real life. Any way of abusing pills is a huge harm to the body.

  39. She only bought sweaters of natural fabrics. Her main pet peeve was cheap fabrics that pilled. Shaving the sweater only helped temporarily. Soon it would pill again and shaving it could leave holes. She came across as a snob but really she only wanted her money’s worth.

  40. When I overdosed on those pills all I could think about was him. I’m sad. I was sad then and I’m sad now. This sadness has nothing to do with you anymore but this sadness makes me sometimes wish I could just give up. That’s what I do when things get hard, I give up. I’m sad.
