  1. Tiny dots of light that make up my world. Make up faces, names, words, lives, trapped in the static box of the computer. They create my friends, my fears and my enemies.
Just these tiny points of light.. glowing back at me. Common things with uncommon meaning.

    Julie
  2. Pixels are often used to show things through a complex computer screen. They make up majority of the images you see online or through your television screen. They’re very tiny, it takes thousands of them to make up one image. They’re extremely difficult to see without great eyes or magin

    Shelby
  3. the screen was filled with pixels. You don’t realize it normally; the art-theory term for it is being willing to be deceived, willing to believe the lines on the paper might be a tree, or a box.

    anonymous
  4. Pixels. Everyone thinks there camera should have a lot of them, but in the end, they aren’t all that important as so many of the other features that should be considered.

  5. Pixels, small pieces that make up something bigger. From a distance you would never know. Its not until we’re up close, nose pressed to the screen can we see who people really are.

    Joe
  6. Pixels. They make up the digital world. They are little tiny colours. They are all a part of something bigger. Like we are. We make up the world. They make up the screens, and beautiful photos we take and capture.

  11. Pixels are what constitutes the reality of our computers. They are the tiny atoms that create the images that we see and find enjoyment in. They make up our second reality, the virtual reality that we sometimes also live in.

    Ilya
  12. Pixels are the things that make up everything in the internet around us. Every picture, every image, every quantum item that can be seen electronically is made up of itty bitty pixels, more or less. Do pixels exist in real life? Is real life just a conglomerate of pixels with arms and legs and mouths that speak? Maybe. Maybe everything is just a clump of pixels that have learned to eat and sleep and speak and love and find purpose. Can pixels feel? Have they evolved to forget that they started out as pixels in the first place? Maybe all of us, all these pixels, everything we see and hear and feel- is just a clump of pixels on some programmers computer in an alternate universe. Is anything real? Or are we just preprogrammed bits running through a harddrive in the 86th dimension?

    Shayla Bullock
  13. camera pictures are made of this. Who am i to disagree. That’s what is said about them so that is what i know about pixels.

  16. anything and everything you see wether it be on a screen or on tv is made up of tiny multicolored dots called pixels. they give color and image to a blank screen and alone are incosenquencial but combined create amazing images. In the modern age, pixels are just as important as words.

  17. The pixels swam for a moment, the briefest instant. I might have missed it or put it down to a splitting headache but for the fact that, when I looked up, nothing was quite the same.

  22. The world around me shattered into a thousand tiny pieces, like pixels of the hope we used to hold onto. Now there’s nothing left for us to cherish, just chaos and fire. Just the dead and the broken. Just those who used to be, and those who wish they where not.

  24. social networking was created
    specifically to cater to one-sided
    former love affairs like ours

i see you’re going to a gallery opening
(you were always my way in)

i see you checked into a bubble tea shop
    that we both liked
(but you didn’t order your usual)

    i see a cute enough boy i don’t know
    with his arm around you
(your smile seems polite and friendly
but i can’t be too sure)

i see you cut your hair and it suits you
    (your new glasses too)
i see that you still can’t draw hands
    just right
(though you sculpt like a pro and it shows)

i suppose it’s wishful thinking to assume
    someone’s life goes on hold
    without you

a magic painting you enter and leave
    as you please
    while everything stays the same

and it takes a special brand
    of masochism
    to keep watching

    unable to participate
just another static photo on a list of names
    because that’s what “friends” do

  25. Pixels. I’m a photography nerd so I know what this means: the quality of an image. EOS cameras produce pictures with higher pixels than pocket ones; however, they also review the pores on your face.

  26. Last night I was looking at my screen and saw thousands of tiny dots, lighting the world of the technologically fabricated. Nothing except empty space filled with colour and light, a strange concept, but a real one. At least here and now, perhaps in the past and definitely in the future. A new form of life, a world underestimated and barely understood.

    Kory
  27. It’s easy to forget that what we’re looking at every day is pixels. I know I get lost in them and I’m sure you do, too. All sorts of ideas and people and adventures and images and just a whole virtual world of outstanding creativity and togetherness, but in actuality all it is is pixels.

  28. pixels fill up computer screens and they also sound like pixies so maybe there is a relation between both of these tiny creatures/figures that compose a world of technologies (in the normal and foucault sense) but can you really refer to a woodland forest as a foucaudian technology?

    Liz Alexander
  29. pixels are like penguins, but not. they are, originally, black and white, until painted a variety of colors. pixels are pixelated, which penguins, as most sane human beings will tell you, are not, unless improperly viewed on a cheap browser or in a poorly-taken photograph.

    Matt Fernald
  30. The many pixels it takes to make up a picture reminds me of all the other analogies we’ve ever heard about life. Every pixel counts towards one big picture. The picture I have in mind is to be a world-famous author. Today’s exercise was just one little pixel in that big picture.

    Avantika Chitturi
  31. the young girl stares at the blank computer screen, wandering why she can never get the satisfaction that she truly wants. The pixels on the screen stay blank, as she drowns in the emptiness of her writers block. the white page, mocking her, challenging her, and depressing her.

    julia louise
  32. not pixies? fairies? ok Pixels, something with a camera mega pixles, the more there are the better the photo is but the bigger file it is and its harder to send over the computer unless you compress it. MY first digital camera had 4 mega pixles and I thought I was hot shit with that. I did get some decent shots with it and a small capacity memory card lasted forever, not so much now. I can’t believe this is only sixty seconds seems like I have been typing longer than that this Pixles pixels pixle doggone I spelled it wrong, it’s pixels. ok I think I am done really…when will the bell ding? I only have a minute isn’t that correct?

  33. feminism
I don’t know whether there is a set definition but I hope there could be. I mean “social, economic and political equality between men and women” sort of works but gender/men/
Gender is just such a hard analytical concept.

    Nancy Tang
  34. Pixelated vision. Seeing everything discretely, in a mathematical grid,. No continuity.
    No depth
    No deeper meaning
    Just a mathematical array
    Just a very precise matrix
    Numbers
    Visions become numbers…

  35. Pixels glint in his eyes, but I don’t care. “If I were real,” he says.
“Don’t,” I say. “You’re as real as I want you to be.”
He smiles, and keeps pretend-eating his food. I eat my real food and pretend he isn’t a robot.

  36. Pixels fill up my screen. Like the many colors that stain this cell, colors from the previous construction that left this prison in a Bohemian dream. I have been staring at the screen all morning, trying to note down what I want to describe of my month-long stay at the Fauci corrections facility.

  37. Millions. Chaos everywhere. Pushing crowds and getting flipped and spinned in circles. Yells echo and bounce of walls. Blurs of colors flash in places. Panic. Try and find your spot.

  38. the pixels jumble about, blurring the image they normally created. Suddenly, the screen went blank, leaving the boy puzzled. He tried the power button, failing horribly. Until, an odd symbol appeared in replacement of the blackness.

    Anzu
  39. Oh, its just a dot, actually a lot of them, really, really alot of them.
Just a dot? I think not. Don’t look too closely or you’ll only see the dots for the pixels.

    Red Lantern
  40. pixels fill your world. you revolve around them. no more hand written notes, and stories. screens dominate our life. We breathe, live, speak pixels.
