  1. Scientists are very important people. They help us in many ways — they find cures to diseases, invent new machines, and discover new things all the time. I think scientists are very interesting.

  2. @ jaedon

Isn’t DNA more like a code? Like hex colours, they way characters change as you mix them. Like two similar surnames of families not closely related. I could be wrong (probably am; after all, I am not a biologist). Or some sort of singular God could be a prankster creative and have spent 3.7 billion of years working on the most elaborate, subtle, nonsensical proof of sense for humour imaginable that tiny characters called humans would be uncovering hundreds to billions of years. Then have told some Earthly people about it along the progress. …Who did heavy editing for a lighter read before making official versions. Oh those Jews..! They ruined our Christianity until geekier scientists came along. Many things are possible, due to our endless uncertainty – but why do we need to plaster it with explanations? Science is sort of nice, but hardly decisive. Then again, religion is just bunch of answers without stopping, without seeing, without real reasoning. …If there’s no stable bridge, I won’t cross it. If I can’t make the first step, do I even need to go that direction? Just because at the other end is something making me nervous and the last part of bridge leading there is all pretty and solid? Because I saw advertisement about it? No, thank you, I haven’t decided. Similarly and opposite to those convinced of science and convinced of God, just to make sure. Because they feel sure about science and its complexity makes them believe it is a work of a God. …How do they know what god? Ah, well. For now I will try to live a long short life, learning from science (how; and about it). – It works. And feels desirable.
Somehow massively destroying nature because you ignored science, will that send you to hell? If you kill in a war, will you go to hell?
Let’s ask Bible interpreters, pure believers and scientists.

How was hell created? If God and his rule decide whether you go there or not, how does that relate to him giving us will? Why do we see him as good and say evil, devil, hell is his absence of him? …And not absence of his sympathies? Even if your eternal soul darkens or purifies itself, will it stay where it was sent first? Is then heaven contaminated? If your life could still be sent to hell, is heaven potentially as temporary as living here? Is life on Earth not very precious, only a trial? Does God really not love non-humans that much? When was hell introduced to human knowledge and how? What about devil? Did Jesus die for everybody’s sins or just Jews’? Is that God only to them, followed by others? Is it just empty words as sins still invite hell and we get threatened by apocalypse? Confusion? If there’s heaven and hell and eternal life in the hell is the risk/punishment, why would God send random people early? Along with non-sinners? Is that like early holiday? … I’m getting too tired writing questions.
How come the uncertainty, the questions, the science -, what with the apple and all?
Is there even any bridge at all?

    Am I even saying this?

I think this with as much seriousness as I think about divinity with. Only a vague pinch of it.

    There are more important things.
There are more important things to know.
    That science can tell me.
    More important things to do.
    Like being a good person.
I have no worries beyond what is in front of me; in all senses of it. That’s a good way to spend a life. I’m not “deciding” anything that extreme.
I really wanna insert the picture of Darwin in some of his caricatured incarnations.
    What a silly whim.

    I’m writing something silly anyway.

(a/n: Sorry, I went wild. Should you have read through this, happy day..! Because it is everyday. – I will not babble on. *Definitely*.)

  3. A scientist is a person who studies in their type of field of their subject.

    kevin
  4. They are very smart people and no a lot about the earth and moon and junk like that. They can teach us valuable things in life and they can teach you how to learn and research things and examine things in the lab.

    Aeryal Neurohr
  5. science

  6. I found it over here! What is it? said James, its an old dog bone, its been here for about 5,000 years.I believe that the scientists at the UW Madison will enjoy an look at it. What boss why are we going to give them it?No more questions James, thank you.

    Nathanael Cone WI
  7. Carlos claims he is not a hero; instead, he’s always saying he is a scientist.

Well, why can’t he be both? Carlos – perfectly imperfect Carlos – is my hero.

  8. The scientists were working on a portable black hole device.

    Jarrett
  9. The scientists just stood there and prodded her body as if she wasn’t living, as if she wasn’t human. She just wanted to be normal it didn’t matter that she was born with blue skin and pink hair she was normal to her self

  10. so oneday i was on this macaroni and cheese machine and i was a chicken nugget cause these fucking scientists made ma a fucking chicken nuggety like FUCK THOS GUYS like seriously man so i at a He couldn’t sleep because of the fear of letting his town down like he used to do.

  11. The scientists were all shouting. They didn’t know how it got out. All they knew is it was coming and it was coming for us all.
“We’ve gotta get out.” I cried.
“Where can we go?” James asked. “It’s too late. We’ve been exposed. We’re dead.”

  12. Feeling like a mouse on a table, I grimaced. It felt as if all these people were scientists, ready to pick me apart. My arms and legs flailed, trying to escape the leather bonds, yet I was met with nothing.

  13. Large eyes, magnified by magic mirrors hovered over her face. They poked and prodded with their steel, speaking in some strange code. One of them said they wanted a closer look at her heart and moved in with a cutting saw. “Oh great, so I’m a cadaver?” she thought, half-amused.

  14. It’s a thing where people learn about different parts of the earth. Scientists are famous people, but do they really deserve all the claim to fame they need? I don’t really think so, but unfortunately I’m not every person in the world, so that’s that, okay? Okay…

  15. @ Dornae Moore

Yes, they have proved scientists wrong. (And it was in this world. As far as scientists claim.)
    – A lot of scientists. And some other people. Like, pre-Scientific religious powers.
They created numerous deadly weapons of varying range of effects. They thought, “if we wouldn’t do it, who would?”. …Actually generally, they like explosions, poison and natural monstrosities more than pulpy books. Who can blame them? They’re clever.
Experimentally, they conserved some living humans for hundreds of years too..!!
    What fiction can trump that?
They do many things which make us like them, as well: like saving us from Christianity, Venice sinking and peace.
    – That is, Venice sinking sooner than later and more stable peace – laughable battles (thank God for that..!). (…who was it again..?)
60% of time they will make you healthier and not sicker.

Sometimes they see a star or another deviation in the faraway space and think “am I the first one who saw it?” – and when they find they were, they hurry to name it and tell other scientists, all excited. They think it would be nice to find a planet that is similar to us. …But will not snort over unusual physics. Even if they’re more usual than not. What do you know, you can never have enough samples! Now you can make astronomical cartography your hobby..! Unfortunately, with all those unmemorable, mismatching, inefficient names, and there were many, they couldn’t *quite* count them. It is a pity all attempts eventually failed so far. You’ll have to count them yourself – if you can.
(To this day, they can’t find the man who said that we can’t “go on the moon”.)

  16. The three of them grabbed their lab coats and sat down to work.

The master plan unrolled, the steam in the air and wild reactions ready to fire, clinking glass and smoke and biological hazards floating around… no, wait… that wasn’t right…

  17. He opened his eyes, the sterile white of the room blinding him, making him shut them tightly again, trying to block out the whirring of the machinery around him.

It had been months, weeks, even, and he still ddin’t know who he was, why he was here, why those white walls surrounded him- Only that he was meant as nothing but a doll, a puppet, nothing but a tool in those men’s hands.

Scientists, they called themselves. They were scientists, indeed.

    Mad ones.

    Leo
  18. What they’ve said? Ah, no, this can’t do. We know we can’t proceed -unless.. Forget it, we’ll go there. That’s all there was from the start…

(a/n: I apologise for not thinking about this word at all.)

  20. Scientists. They prove a lot of people wrong in this world. Such as going on the moon when man said we couldn’t. Or even coming close to counting so many stars in the sky. They saved us from world disasters and kept us alive.

    Dornae Moore
  21. How I admire scientists! What minds! When my daughter was only in kindergarten and took a placement test- her teacher told me, “KM will not study science- she will create it!” I have long admired my daughter !

    Elizabeth
  22. “Government scientists have confirmed that the vaccine is effective. The Advance Colonists are expected to make a full recovery. Accordingly, the evacuation of the planet will go ahead as scheduled. All citizens who have been assigned to the Alpha fleet are ordered to report to the registration stations tomorrow morning at nine A.M.” Walsh turned off the television. The city was close to panic already; and he could only imagine what would happen the following evening when it would be announced that the Alpha fleet would not be followed by any others, and only the best and brightest of their people had been selected for survival.

  23. If it were not for scientists, the real Prometheus, we would still be living in our caves wondering thinking what is outside.

  24. Why is it that scientists are disparaged? Silly, really. Of course, they can be biased, but they set up every safeguard they can to avoid that bias. And then, completely biased people who have agendas and beliefs that are completely unproven speak with the same authority as scientists who spend a lifetime quietly studying matters in an unbiased structure.

  25. Do you know that there are a race of people who is in charge to the human progress? The scientist.

    Angel jcg
  26. Not even scientists could analyse what we had.
Our chemistry ignited, as our biology touched.

    Lisa
  27. Scientists are so logical, so sane. Well. Actually. People often think of “mad scientists” when they think of scientists. Which points to insanity. Generalizations are generalizations, but they’re still based on a seedling of truth. Maybe scientists are insane. I guess we all are.

  28. They work continuously, working to make our lives better, inventing, dreaming, shaping. I can’t fathom their work and yet their efforts have changed my life in ways I’m not even aware of. It amazes me that the human brain can do so much.

    Robin
  29. “A group of twenty scientists were killed early this morning when an unnamed gunman opened fire on a remote facility in Queens. There are no details on motive or the names of the victims as of yet, but the police are theorizing that maybe the shooter, who is still at large, was after information that the group was working on for the government. Back to you in the studio, Sondra and Jay.”

  30. “It won’t work.” Stu said dryly. “That would never work.”
“Not with an attitude like that, it won’t.” I said with the same tone I always did to give Stu the final nudge to go along with whatever I needed. He was quite the pushover. Always willing to complain but never to say no.

  31. She slammed him into the wall. “Run the ruddy diagnostics again, then!”

He gulped, and the sound was audible. “The thing is ma’am…I’ve run them three times, and the results are the same every time. She’s dying. That’s just how it is!”

She frowned. “I’m the one who invented the tech. I am not asking. Run the diagnostics again!”

  32. Exploring, experimenting; ever-persistent in their quest for knowledge. They pursue subjects and issues that take us ever further into the future and drive us to progress.

  33. with their harsh white lab coats and stark faces, glistening with sweat and hope, they prodded at Jell’s mind. Their hands were cold and smelled like antibacterial soap, a scent which Jell now associated with death.

  34. I always wished that one day scientists can invent some sort of time machine, so that I can go back in time to relive those sweet memories, to see the people I loved, and do the things I loved. I admit that I often dwell in the past, and dream about what would I do to go back. I never understood the theory of what pass has passed. You lose something, but eventually you will gain something.

But that was a few years ago, I’ve changed. I’m not the person I used to be. I am proud of that.

I look forward now, with a smile on my face and I am so excited for what the future holds in store for me.

  35. The scientists were stumped. After dozens of tests, zaps, electricity, injections, and what not IT was unchanged.
It was the great mystery at the time and the end of mankind.
    IT was waiting, enduring.
    For the end.

  36. The scientists strapped him down quickly and efficiently, not a speck of dust making its way onto their pristine white coats. He writhed and thrashed under the bonds, but none of them blinked an eye.
“Fascinating,” one murmured, pulling apart the man’s eyelids.

  37. The scientists say we came from monkeys and apes but the truth is our DNA is closer to a pigs DNA than monkeys. So are they going to say we came from pigs? We came from God and he sent his only son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. So what does that tell you? Is it better to believe in God and be wrong or to believe nothing and not to believe in God and be wrong? I for one know what I believe and I think you need to decide. Life on earth is short but you will spend life eternal in Heaven or Hell. Life is like a coin you can spend it any way you wish but you can only spend it once.

  38. They kept touching with their gloved hands and Jal felt her skin crawl. She blinked, breathing deeply, as the large, dark line across her mid drift was probed. The scientists were understandably curious, such a thing was unheard of before, someone like her surviving as long as she did. As Ali closed her eyes, she saw one pull out a large, sharp scalpel and the restraints around her body tightened.

  39. “Ninety-seven percent of scientists agree about this, Sean.”

“Well, ninety-seven percent of scientists can suck my d – ”

The rest of the word was, to my relief, blocked out by the roar of his enormous motorcycle, and he screeched away, laughing, leaving the smell of diesel in my nose and a tickle in my throat. I sighed, picked up my magazine, and skimmed through out. Outside, it was ninety degrees on a March afternoon.

  40. Logic has no place here
in a world with too many demons
    mainly in the mind,
and yet our mental health and consequences
get sidelined in favor of prisons and campaigns
for if we’re healthy in body
    we’re healthy in mind
that’s the logic of a society
that’s long since left science behind.
