I felt the heat wash over my face as he streaked pass me a first time. "Pretty cool, hey ?" Gosh he was like a teenager with a new set of wheels. But well, at least, the kit worked....

I got off my feet instantly, turned around to see him enter the room. He was, as always, dazzling. A straight, simple dark suit complimented his ever-so-slightly tanned skin and short raven hair.

The edge was a few meters away. Of course I wanted to jump. Of course it was attractive to try and fly away, right now, soaring above everything and the sea and the waves beneath. I stepped on the dais, standing above the cliff.

Built on hills of sands and rivers of mica, our fortresses all had a rickety attitude. Didn't prevent them from being island of peace and reassurance that indeed, we were everpresent.

Thousand of signs had finally pointed him towards the right solution. Suddenly all the elements, on the board, inside his files, written on his notes, floating ideas inside his mind, coalesced. He knew.

She was leaning towards him and talking urgently in his hear. I obviously couldn't make out words, but there was a distinct feeling of something being built and shaped in between those two.

The entire ship was being silent as it passed wave upon wave in what appeared to be a sea of bodies. The prow would plow like a sullen ox through the sometimes thicker layer, jolting the entire boat in the process.

I was not prepared for this. No clues, no sign, had indicated that somehow he would get fed up, and just up and leave. It was, mostly, a good ol' slap in the face.

One point in time was all it took to start a straight line, and follow it toward the unknown. I had begun to look for a way out for quite some time by then, and a simple shove would push me over the edge.

The cut was precise and clean. A drop of blood formed on the opening of the cut, but the rest of the incision opened without so much as a misty pink welling
