Over the falls, nothing but the rushing water and the sound of rocks hitting the wood and metal encasing whatever precious cargo is being carried. Over we go... Somehow, I don't find it important, but it isn't ignorance. It's apathy.

It's a constant, aching struggle. This hollowness, this state of constant want will never go away. I'm left unsatisfied. Like nomads in vast deserts with nothing but sand to wet their throats.

With wind in the sails and a fearless captain manning the helm, there was nothing we could do but wait. At least bellow decks we would be dry, but that isn't to say we would be safe-- Isabella was a madwoman when fortune dangled before her...Somehow I don't know how we ever survived, and yet I almost wish we stayed under the wreckage and drowned with the rest of the crew.

Crushed flower petals clenched tightly between trembling hands, the silk brushing against her soft thigh was smooth, elegant, and perfectly delicate for such a blushing maid. The veil is gone, but the gown remains.

Music swells, and for once I feel like belonging isn't so important. All eyes are on ME. All the focus in the room is on the music, and there's a rush of power that can't be explained. It's like being in a family where no one fights over limelight, and everything is good...for now.

It only strikes once; brilliant and intense, it's the one thing that can be held in a jar that cannot be touched by bare fingertips. It's the same sensation that flows through lovers when tender lips meet time and time again. It only strikes once in a lifetime, but strikes true and sure.

"Ain't no way...." the soulful voice fills my head with a song that urges me to laugh at the irony before me. Just out this door is a world of rust and overcast skies. It's a twisted, cold place where nothing ever blooms...not even people.

The pen is cool and heavy in my hand as my eyes skip over words freeing these strangers from any sort of liability. My life's becoming forfeit because I couldn't settle for a tamer kind of thrill...What's the matter with me?

It's the one thing keeping me from him; his crazed stare and jealous rage all excite feelings of fear and foolishness. This thin strip of metal is all that stands between me and a violent demise at the hands of a lunatic out for my blood.

Excitement fills every cell of every tissue creating my personage; with my fingers gripping the perspiring cup a rush fills me like no other when the music swells and explosions play in the background of moving text and images. "This is gonna be sweet..."
