The friends laugh until their bellies ache. Ingrid's eyes close, and she gets a vision. There is a thunderstorm, and a minatur and jasmine, in a puddle on the ground, collapsed. Ingrid opens her eyes; her friends are still laughing. She tries to laugh along with them. She is terrified.
Ingrid hears a voice calling out to her, calling her back. She turns around, surrounded by the fiery pits of hell, it's Nailah, calling her name. Ingrid: Nailah? Are you there? Nailah?
Nailah picks Jasmine up off the ground. She is trambling. Nailah delicately puts her back into her wheelchair. There is s a spark when their hands touch. Nailah smiles and asks if she needs anything else.
The drum of rain pounds the city. Ander is furious and confused. He looks at his palms and then at Nailah and Ingrid. There is a scorch mark on his hands. all that is left from the lightning he just shot at the minataur.
Be honest. I can't. why not. I can't. You Don't lie to me. Or you didn't use to lie to me. Have you always been lying to me? im sirry. So what? your a magical future-seeing person or oracle or whatever, and you can teleport and I'm supposed to believe that?
the reds were tall and we were young. dancing like children do. play deep in the mud and laughing the way only children do. we kissed that day. a gentle intimate first kiss. I wasnt allowed to see her after that. her dad came early. he caught us.
Nailah grabs ingrds wrist in a moment of furry and passion. ingird looks down at her hand and then up at nailah. her face twists with longing naialh gazes deeply yinto her eyes. ingrid gazes back. naialh pulls ingrid in for a feverish kiss. slowly seven burning suns apear in the sky.
the rain begins pooring. thuner rocks the city and lightnight strikes quick and fast. ander stands in the imddle of the street dreched and furioius. he lifts ingrids limp body from the ground and rain pounds harder
