and i’d never be able to find another like her.

the maroon within her mind contrasts nicely with the emerald hue of the heavens.

she’ll never have to worry about anything being dull…

wondering consists of whether or not Jesus likes gladiolas,
or an accented wall painted maroon.

  9. Maroon sounds like moron. It reminds me of Bugs Bunny going “what a marooooon”. I love the color. It goes by a different name, “aubergine”, and it was the highlight of the Ann Taylor fashion line for Fall 2009. I regret leaving that job, and that city, and that man. Half my heart is in NYC. </3

  14. “How do you like it?” his mother asked. His father stood beside her, anxiously awaiting his response.
Jackson wanted to be grateful, but he couldn’t help it; his lips began to tremble and a tear rolled down his cheek.
“What’s wrong?” asked his father. “You’ve wanted a bike for so long.”
“It’s,” the little boy sobbed. “It’s pink.”
His father hung his head low. He’d been hoping his young son would overlook that it was his cousin Tanya’s hand-me-down bicycle.
“More maroon than pink, Jackie,” his mother said. “And it’s all we could get.”
His father put his hands in his pocket. “I’m sorry, son,” he said. He scratched his head. “Maybe I could figure something out. I guess I could work late a few nights next week.”
Jackson felt a surge of pity for his father. He was willing to work late so his son could have a bike. Jackson felt awful then, like he had taken advantage of his father.
“No, Dad,” he said. He wiped a tear off his face. “I like it.”

That’s why Gabriel loved blood, that and the fact that it made the impurities leave in a semi pure way. Gabriel, for as long as he could remember loved maroon, it had always been a well known favorite of his. Even when he was alive a very, very long time ago, he remembered liking the color, but, at that time it was just known as red or bloodshed color.
