There’s a whisper through the canyon, it’s midnight, and I thought I might like a ride. So I flitter over to the stars every night about this time. Would I say what is different this time…the next line, the next time, what I would encounter at the sink as I’m washing down the water, a hint, a glimmer of a rather good time, I think. I shiver. A priori came at dinner. That is the meditation made me too full to eat. No room for pie. I know I’m waking up to a hint, a glimmer of rather good time, I think. I shiver. A priori came again in the shimmer. So I flitter over to the stars every night about this time. Would I say what is different this time…

I encountered a small little kitten wandering across the road. He looked at me as though he were almost smiling but, as most kittens do, he wouldn’t even think of letting me approach him. Off he went back into the ditch, as little wild kittens usually do.

encounter, something serendipitous, something between you and something else, something outside of yourself.
James Hawkins
Run, run, run! Don’t look behind you! If you see him, he runs faster. Don’t slow down, even if you think your safe. Keep running. Your not safe. Don’t run to the cops, they are of no help. You need to keep running. Hes chosen you. Once hes chosen, there is no going back. So just keep running. How do you know hes following you if you’ve never seen him? You feel it. When you feel like someone is following you, but you turn and no one is there, its him. If you see him, then you know its too late. You don’t want him to catch you. Now If you’ve reached this point in my warning, you need to go, because by the time you finish, he will be there. Hes been waiting. So go. Go! Never mind now, your already about to encounter the Devil.

Her encounter with her demons proved to be a task. They yelled and screamed as she lay helpless on the floor, desperately trying to regain her strength. Her fight was almost over, and she knew how it would end.
Once I encountered a bear with big claws and really sharp teeth. It was scary and he chased me through the woods. I ran as fast as I could and then climbed up a tree. It eventually went away.
This encounter was the last one of its kind. Thank God. I’ll never be able to look another woman in the face again, if I do I’ll shame the entire family. Maybe it’ll be worth it?

to encounter is to meet someone you’ve never met before. you might like them and you might not. it might be a conflict. you might have issues. but we get to learn from each other that way. we have so much to SHARE with each other, so much to SHOW each other. we should put ourselves out there so we can ENCOUNTER more, more often. Walking through the woods can be a truly knowledgeable experience. There is so much to learn about the world… Never stop with one encounter, always seek out more and more…. The world has so much to offer.

to clamber into an encounter may heed nonsense;
though, if, dirt went a brook, water’s distaste wouldn’t be disguised.
Crispening encounters with daisy-pedals and rose-tips
make way when bush thorns are waded through and over!
To satiate evergreen beatniks until goldmines lighten and brighten up–
with the full on power driven by greatening will,
lathers soap scum off of repelling sink skunk that lingers in your nostril!

They met, as so many do, after years and events and so many memories had past.
They passed through the time and came out the other side the same people, somehow.
And so when they finally encountered each other again, it was like nothing had changed.
Not a great sign.
A sudden, often violent clash, as between combatants.

“It was a frightening encounter! I could have lost my life if I didn’t think of turning around.” Said the man who was in the hospital bed.
“The food here I encounter is rather gruff, tasteless, pale and rather…boring.” He said with a disgusted look, Pulling out his Whisky out of his cushion. Proceeding to throw it into his tea.

If you happen to a have an encounter with a curious cat, do be careful. They have sharp claws that spring out when startled, and they can really do some deep damage to your thighs.
What is the noise we hear when we first meet one another? I have greeted thousands of faces, none of them genuine. I listen to them, but I only see their discomfort. I taste it, too. What do I hear?
He encountered a one hundred dollar bill on the subway today. He thought of taking his wife to a nice steak dinner, or buying a lot of beer. He thought about giving it to church, or saving it for a rainy day. But he then encountered a homeless man, sitting alone on the floor of the dirty subway station. The homeless man then encountered the hundred dollar bill.

I walked past a tree in the woods, familiar as it was. As I moved forward, I stopped to encounter a pale wolf with yellow, sunken eyes. It bared its teeth as my foot crunched lightly on the snow. I grasped the tree next to me. There was something about this wolf.

I had a strange encounter the other day. As I was riding my bike down the seawall a strange bird crossed my path. The bird said to me “Hey, you… what are you doing?”
I said “I’m just chillin and riding my bike… hey, wait, when did birds start talking?”
The bird flew up to my handlebars and said “Wake up!”
I once had an encounter with someone I was not fond of. They are a person I do not particularly enjoy being surrounded by. but it’s weird because this person was once extremely important to me. They were something I could have cared for, did care for, very deeply. I loved their presence, and now I resent it entirely.

Today I had an encounter with someone whom I am not very fond of. They are not the best person I have ever met, and everytime I see them, they make me uncomfortable inside. Their presence is menacing and slightly agitating. They are not a very nice person and they deserve everything that comes to them.
He saw his ex-boyfriend walking down the city streets, accompanied by the overbearing mother that tore them apart. His ex was wearing a dopey Ceasar Chavez protest shirt emblazoned with the slogan “no grapes.” They waved and said hi, and that was it. It was a strange and awkward encounter.

It was a dark street in the early evening. It was the place they had agreed upon for their encounter. It was the first time she had ever done anything like this. She was jittery with both excitement and anxiety. What if he didn’t show up?
an encounter with the mysterious in our lives is what keeps living vital. We stride forward and try to wade through the mire of everyday routine and through the roadblocks of our own insecurities. When we find inspiration, when we find a phrase or a person that tell us who we want to be, that’s an encounter.
I encountered Mister Lackley behind the school office around six in the evening. He was smoking a cigarette, dragging his boot-clad left boot across the same road skid of run over leaves, as if he wanted to rearrange them into a pattern that felt more alive and less like tire residue. I propped my shoulder against the wall beside him and looked at him.
“No soccer practice today?” I asked.
“Nah,” he replied. “Too many kids on the team are sick. No scrimmaging this time.”
