i felt like i could accomplish anything. my mind was in the right place, my ambition had seen levels unlike anything recently. it probably wasn’t much to someone who wasn’t mentally ill, but to me, it was everything. i hoped to parallel the success i was achieving and see the effects it had firsthand, but until that happened, i would simply have to wait.
he loved this zone. This was his palace, his refuge. He was invincible in this part of his subconscious mind. He created every aspect of it. From stones to the stars, every part of it had a reflection of him.
Sticks and stones can break your bones, but cement pays homage to tradition. Watch out, you’re in the twilight zone. It’s the zone of no return. Can you zone out and still be paying attention. What’s your zip code? It depends on what zone you live in the city!
Everyone has a zone. It’s out there, as Fox%Moulder used to say. The trick is to navigate your life to that zone and stay there. For as long as possible.

This is my zone, it’s where I go when I can’t find another shelter. It’s warm, it’s comfy, it keeps me safe and it’s already very familiar to me.
The only problem is that when I get inside once, the doors leading out lock themselves.

i m in my zone
phone unrung
singing songs unsung
a six degree burn
a satiated urn
a satisfied urge
a safety cone
literally nothing collateral
something so innate
it seems like a hoax
a joke
a clicking tongue
being an asshole just for fun
i knwo you so well
oh well
i guess ill just have to learn

“You weren’t listening to me!”
“I was in the zone.”
“In the zone?”
“Yeah. In the zone.” Her hands shook as she set down her pen, but the ink remained on her fingers. “I was focused on my work. C’mon, look at me.”
Her roommate groaned and sat down on the edge of her bed. “You need to take a break.”
“Nope. Not now.”
“I was trying to tell you about the party on Friday.”
“And that’d also be a nope.”

I pulled over. Yellow tape everywhere trying to warn me, to warn us that whatever lay behind was dangerous. MILITARY ZONE. It was devious. It was something we learned about in school for years and were supposed to be wary and afraid of.
“You ready?” She asked.
I smiled.
“Let’s go.”

zone. there are many zones, all with different meanings. zones can often be splitting things up. are you in the zone?
i enter the zone. i see the others. in the same position as me, thinking the same thoughts, feeling the same things, yet miles away. we are one, yet we are not united. we can’t be. we are all out to get one another.
we cannot leave the zone until we have done so.
(ps: this was just posted, but i am reposting it so that it will appear under my account. sorry!)

In my zone, I saw the light
tessellating down, like crystal aflight.
Sometimes when I’m writing, I am in the zone. I hear birds, I feel my feet on the floor but my mind is playing with words and ideas and I see violet and palm trees and I can soar My words will be magnificent.

It is a cotton candy-free zone. No toothache, queasiness and sticky fingers. What a miserable place.
And look at that table with the crossed-out plaintive-looking cotton candy stick figure.
It is a sad, sad, sad place.
It’s a no man zone
a burning bridge
an endless ocean
where crustaceans live.
It’s a dangerous sanctuary
in a dark back alley
Semen on the dumpster
but no one can see.
